I’ve just purchased one of these and the spinner motor is making a strange screeching noise. Seams to be pumping out the water but the noise isn’t right. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? I’m new to Twin Tubs. This is my first one so haven’t really got a clue.
Thanks in advance,
Ashley

screeching...

My first guess is the pump, not the spin motor. Disconnect the rubber belt to the pump and run the spinner again.

Also the bearing (a bronze bush) or its carbon face seal at the bottom of the spin can is prone to squawking, too. Sometimes this is just when the carbon seal face is dry - never run the spinner without at least a little water in the spinner.

really you should try to do this in two steps - 1. Isolate exactly which component is noisy, then 2. come back here for advice on how to replace the offending part.

The motor itself is less likely to screech, though they are a naturally noisy motor.
Possible also the spinner brake could be dragging..?

When I had my Hoover 510...

There's was a point when after using it for a couple of months, the spinner would screech while spinning the clothes. The screeching started out kinda loud but got louder as I kept using it until finally, I heard a loud noise that came from underneath, that made me jump!

It turned out to be the spinner belt was getting torn in half, lengthwise and it finally broke (which was the loud noise that scared me).

This could be another possibility in your case to check for also?

i have haD THIS WITH MINE

as gizmo says its highly unlikely that its the motor .On mine it was the carbon bearing

As suggested remove the belts

turn it back on and see if the noise has stopped. If yes replace one belt and see what happens if nothing occurs it could be the brake is sticking but until you investigate and give us a bit more to go on we cannot really help :)
