Thanks for your pics you have a very nice home. Can you believe i have never seen the inside of that fridge dispenser drawer until now? From right to left, one would add 1 detergent liquid/powder. compartment 2 LCB, and 3. Softner? I have had my eye on the GE of this version, but I cant justify it until the Amana dies off. parunner58--- I'm sure they will be classics of the future. I had the same Frigidaire dishwasher until I replaced it with their new TOL, with the new washing system. The funnel in the top rack is gone, which makes upper rack loading more flexible. I absolutely love the upper/lower rack only cycles. I use them all the time.
I bought a house in '02 and put two ranges in the kitchen, one gas and one electric. I had no intention of getting the smoothtop, thinking it wouldn't stand up to my heavy use. After a few people told me they loved their smoothtop, I caved in and got one. Now, I rarely ever use the gas cooktop-----the electric one is just too easy to clean by comparison! I've become a convert.

Thanks for all the comments. The Kitchen is so tidey because my wife is a payroll accountant and everything must be --- "a place for everything and everything in its place. I am the cook in the family so I got to pick all tha apps and the countertop (sandstone Corian) I have lots of small apps stored it the cabinets.
I love the Bodum coffee maker. I have ahd it about three weeks now. It makes great coffee and is fun to watch.
The Dyson is grat also. We had bought a Royal Pony when we got married in 81' It was and all metal tank style cleaner that you could only buy in "Real" vac shops. I had an unfortunate accident that i was cleaning the basement step and it rolled down the steps and hit the cement floor and got a huge dent in the side and jammed the fans. It hit pretty hard. SO we bought the Lux, I really wanted VacuFLo or Lux central vac but was out voted by the boss and my budget was cut. My inlaws have a Model G that is still working and is close to 42 years old. With that track record we thought spend the $, We like the lux but I use to read the posts in the now closed VacWeb discussion site and there was a guy, Tom Gasko who spoke highly of the Dyson's. I was following the Dyson Story of coming to the US from the UK and as soon as they were available I bought one. I am the vacuumer in the house so I trade off using a different on eeach time. We did notice that even with the good filtration of teh Lux, you can tell with the Hepa in the Dyson you do not get the "just vacuumed smell. And it does never lose suction as the Lux does when the bag gets full.
We use the half load option a lot with our dishwaser, that plus being so quite were the features that got us to buy it. It replaced a Kitchen Aid Supberba which lasted 14 years. That was quite loud for a KA we thought.
I love the smoothe top. People commented on why i pick the light cooktop, but cleaning it is so easy. We had two coil type ranges and I am so glad not to have to clean drip bowls ever again. The three oven racks in the oven are porcelain coated so you can self-clean them without them turning colors like the old silver ones. The lower heating element is completely hidden so if somthing spills nothing is in the way on wiping it up.
I am really happy we have the FL wsher now. There are better shows watching that then tv. Especially if you put a "Sponge Bob" pillow in there to wash. I cracked up laughing the first time we washed it and you would see his eyes pushed up on the glass. I will take a picture the next time.

parunner58--- I actually wish I had purchased a range with a white smoothtop; mine is black and it's a little difficult to see the food in the pan and gauge how it's doing. I need to get a lighted fan hood over that range.
