Hey guys, I’ve noticed that whenever I have a shower or whenever I do laundry when getting water directly from the hot water tap, I’ve always noticed that it seems to have a bit of a chlorine smell, not as strong as a pool but definitely noticeable, I live in the very south east of Australia Canberra region, it’s weird but I’m not sure if it’s normal

what’s your opinions

Pretty normal.

Whenever I'm in Australian cities I always think the water smells like chlorine. We have tank water so I'm used to pure rainwater. City water stinks, some worse than others.

It's a long time since I was in Canberra, I don't remember the water but I'd be surprised if it wasn't heavily chlorinated.

Since our local water company here in California switched from chlorine to chloramine, the "chlorine smell" has gone away from the tap water.

I can buy the overflowing standpipe theory for the slower spin as there were many, many complaints about that problem. I don't buy the wrinkling clothes theory.

Not sure why Speed Queen didn't shift the motor to a faster speed once most of the water was out of the tub ala Frigidaire Multimatic and Rollermatic style.
