Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I suppose it must have the smaller capacity drum used on the washer dryers. Perhaps 1400 was just too much for the standard 95 series drum. I remember the 1200 machines were less reliable than the 1000s as they tended to shake themselves to pieces.

Actually Fido, the drum has the same capacity as the standard Hotpoint drum and it's bigger than the washer dryer drums, the 1400 models simply needed strengthening around the front of the drum so hence the need for a thicker rim that overlaps the tub, so I am told. Hotpoint apparently had problems with using the standard thin rim drum in 1400 machines.

Also Hotpoint started using the washer dryer cabinet on the 1400 models to facilitate the building in of the full panel door models so that the inlet pipes could be fitted from the side. It saved them money on designing a new body shell for just that model.

Hi Steve.

apologies for the delay in responding to your thread - what a great machine you have recently acquired and I such good condition.

Inside looks pristine! Those photos with the back panel removed - is that post a clean, or how it arrived?

The 9567A, 9567P and 9567W arrived circa 1991 and appear in the 1992 Hotpoint brochure.

The matching dryer was the 9346 Sensor Dryer - keeps your eyes peeled - you know you want one!

Hi Paul

That is how it was when I got it. Really great inside. It has the snapped side trim of course on one side and a few chips and scratches but overall it seems great - no rust at all. Did you find a paint colour for the almond machines? I seem to remember a post somewhere but can't find it now.

I was using it at the weekend and there seems to be a loose connection on the control panel display as it went off a couple of times when the machine was spinning. I could really do with some service info so I can get in the front panel as I'm scared I might break something knowing how brittle the plastic can be on these hotpoints. I've not been able to find any online so if you know of the existence of any then I'll beg to get my hands on a copy

Also, I am convinced it has out of balance sensing as sometimes it goes straight into a spin and other times it keeps distributing. I was doing some bedding in it and it only did 800 for the final spin instead of the 1400! It must be an early version of it for Hotpoint as it's not great at guessing when it spin or skip!

Lovely machine.

Scan of the microtronic de luxe service information models 9555,4,1,0 and 95840,2 The out of balance is a micro switch fixed onto to the suspension unit, your model may of course have different arrangements, it may even be part of the programming too monitor the tacho, out of balance would generate an uneven feed back…

Hi Lee

No sign of a micro switch on the suspension but it definitely has some form of balance monitoring for the final spin. Not noticed it on the intermediate spins though. I reckon it is on the tacho but as I said earlier, there is no mention of this feature in the user instructions. Oh to get my hands on the service information.

The display going off was getting worse so I thought I'd give taking the front panel off a try even though I was nervous in case I broke the plastic. Turns out it's quite easy - just undo the 4 screws behind the detergent dispenser and it the slides to the left and you can disconnect the wires. Here are a few more pics.

I gave it all a good clean and the display is so much brighter and clearer now and is staying on. There is a bit of rust by the dispenser that I'll have to sort but not bad at all considering its age.

Here's the back of the board before I realised how to disconnect it while it is still in the facia duh!

Steve, YT account

Steve,

If you FB message me, or email me to my GMail, with your chosen details, I'll happily set up the account for you, as I have plenty of spare time to do small jobs like that, as I do quite a lot of stuff on my laptop each day.

A pic reminder for you, of my ex, Hotpoint 9566.

I think I know when it was made, the tub sticker has a date of December 1992 so lets just go for that shall we? :)
