A bad case of...

...Buttoncrumbleitis.

My 1509/05 just after rescue.
The purple buttons are very bad, but the white one is just that little bit worse.

Great to hear from you, and yes the buttons are a bit of nightmare - if you do root out any, please keep me in mind, I'd be very grateful! Now you might know what the deal is with the colours - mine appears to have three dark purple, one mauve and one white, but your pristine find shows the colours that the service book implies (i.e. no white, but pink instead). My cousin's one had the white bio button I'm sure - perhaps there was some inconsistency here? If Mark (in Scotland) is out there, he might confirm what the colour arrangement is on his...

Can't wait to see pics of your 1509 - whereabouts did it come in terms of date - is it a late one like mine (2-pole motor, high position drain panel) or one of the earlier ones?

I'm looking foward to when I can send this one for a rebuild - my aim is to get a line up of (hopefully) 1509/05, 1509/10 (I know - fat chance), 15790...and you never know, maybe a Gala 1500 and 1502 when I'm back home in Ireland!

Nice machine David! I hope I can find something purple over here too but everything appears to be hiding over here so good luck on finding a 1500 or 1502. Maybe it's not hunting season yet LOL.
