Some variation on "rode hard and put away wet" comes to mind. There are no pictures of the oven which, I think, would have the concealed bake element which probably means trouble given the tender care the top of the range exhibits.

Thank you, Hans. Those vertical buttons for the surface units were on earlier models with the concealed bake elements and caused me to suspect the worst for this poor range.
