Here is some infomation on this odd-looking washer dryer
Here is a pic from the instruction manual plus a link to it. the dispenser drawer looks a bit like an Electra's one.

Wasn't Smeg made was it?
I know Smeg had some washer dryers with a push button in the cabinet that you pressed to open the door, as well as odd (i.e. 1150rpm) spin speeds

Lavamat_Jon- It doesn't look like a Smeg, looks too much like an early Electra or Creda, but I could be wrong.
The manual for this machine has the date April 1992.
I know that Hotpoint drafted in numerous manufacturers for their appliances (Bosch made their dishwashers, and I think one integrated machine was made by Whirlpool)

Hi Alex.
I held off posting piccies of the 6200, as the ones I have are from your brochure, so the honor should be yours.
One way round not being able to post .pdf files to the forum is to take screen grabs instead (you may know this already - its a bit of a faff!):
Open Microsoft Paint.
Then open your .pdf and scroll to what you want to post.
When you are happy with the way it looks on screen, press the 'Print Screen' key (can be found to the left of scroll lock and to the right of the F12 key).
Then go back to Microsoft Paint, which should have opened a blank white background.
Right click and select 'paste'.
Whatever you screen grabbed will now drop onto the blank page, which can then be saved as a .jpg or .bmp and posted on the forum.

Definately was an slightly unusual looking machine, what with the tri-spoked dials.
As far as I know, this machine was manufactured by Creda. Below is the Creda 47307 and its likeness to the 6200 is very apparrent. This style of machine also formed the basis of the 6200's replacement, in the form of the 6240.

Yes, the evidence points towards a Blythe Bridge produced Creda. Must have been one of the last.

Hi Paul, the 6200's replacement the 6240 seems to have been a Hotpoint/Kinmel Park produced machine rather than Creda judging by the parts listings.

I remember that Creda very well. I also remember the 6240, the later built-in washer dryer, I think released with the WM/WD series. I have posted a pic below, which I found on the net. The 6240 is definately Hotpoint's own creation, as it matched the WM/WD series. It was also remodelled as a BW61, though it was exactly the same.
The 6200 resembled an Electra so I guess it was made by Creda.

I think if people of the 6200's time wanted an integral model, they would have gone for the integral Ultimas, which were the 9585/9586/9589 washing machine, dryer and washer dryer variants. I think they were also semi integral, with a customisable door.

Thanks for the picture Ultimafan. In fact many of the Creda styled Electra machines and actual Creda brand machines were produced by Hotpoint from 1991 onwards. The telltale sign was always the Hotpoint drum rather than the Creda type.
The production of washer dryers at Blythe Bridge perhaps continued for (slightly) longer than standalone washers.

Haven't got a collection no space, I live with my parents, have a built in Whirlpool washer and compact WK dryer. As the name suggests, I am fan of all Hotpoint Ultimas and Microprofiles (Not any of that latest Merloni wannabe Ultimas
). I made a thread on a fabulous TL42 Ultima Sensor dryer which came up on eBay, it seems no one is interested (maybe I can drum up some more interest here URL is below). I also take interest in many other digital appliances, so I also like Hoover New Waves and Zanussi Input/Computawashes (Not the cheap rubbish like Beko or Haier though). Though I am interested in many Hotpoints of this era, which is why I made this thread. This machine looks nice, I can picture one with a white or black control panel.
Oh I forgot, you bought that 9900 didn't you! How's that machine?
Mike and Paul: I remember that Creda on eBay, but it was a bit surprising that it was new, when it must have been at least ten years old. Have we ever seen really old vintage washers crop up on eBay new and boxed?

I forgot one more dead ringer to a Creda
The 6200 has a three compartment dispenser drawer. One for wash, prewash and softener, as did many Credas. All other Hotpoints had two compartments and a small tub in the prewash compartment for the softener.

We had a Hotpoint made, Creda style Electa washer in the early 90's. Horrible machine. Had gazzillions of repairs in the 3 years we had it, including the whole outer drum being replaced. I remember it had the hottie drum, but the Creda style door and control pannel. Detergent dispenser was on the left, with 2 dials on the right - delay and program dial - and a few square buttons in the middle. It was 1200rpm. Anyway, point is, it was bloody awful lol

Alex has been a total star and sent me the ENTIRE Hotpoint brochure, so not only have I got the 6200 pic but also a pic of our first Hotpoint 9516. We had it in Almond, and we had the matching fridge. Lasted a good 8 years with numerous brush changes and even a bearing, but then the door went and we just replaced it.
Anyway here is the washer we've all been waiting for...
Alex has been a total star and sent me the ENTIRE Hotpoint brochure, so not only have I got the 6200 pic but also a pic of our first Hotpoint 9516. I wonder why Hotpoint went for those three spoked dials rather than the standard dials?
The way the door opens baffles me a bit. I wonder why you have to push in the mains button and then press door release? A bit of a joke for a safety feature, as the door is covered by the furniture door and we also have the old "knife lock" (Hotpoint's trademark) just next to the door release button.
I have to give it that name as we used to use a knife to double lock the door while on.
