Hi, this is the Hotpoint 95622 which I found in an old ladies garden, I asked if I could have it and she replied yes get rid as it’s been out here for 18 months, so in the back of car she went, washer that is.
She was dirty and covered in green slime, so she had a bath and then test in the garden all seems will but the timer did not move on. Off with top and a close look at timer, and I can see with the machine running that the thermo stop device is stuck, dismantled and cleaned refitted, timer moves on to heater section and water warms, great. All went well till spin and we come to an abrupt stop, brushes are stuck so new ones fitted and away she went no stopping now.
For its age I have had to do nothing to this machine but clean and repaired timer and motor, the bearings are sound and not a speck of rust on any of the shell, trims in good order as well and even has the original liquid detergent dispenser in the draw, I found a chrome door as it would have had one.
Washed about 10 loads on all programs, much better wash than any of the other machines I have.
Old lady can not have used it much and looked after it well what luck I spotted it.
Now I want a 1978 Hotpoint liberator, I had one but as 15 year old my dad sent it and the others I had to the tip when I was at school, told we had not enough room for them!!
