Hello
Been on AW for a while (so glad I found it!) and this is my first post for help. I recently acquired a Hotpoint 9605W. Its in fairly good condition externally but it has a leak between the bellows seal and the support tube. I've started to strip it down and have managed to get the drive nut off but I can't seem to shift the bowl support with either the bowl in situ as recommended in the service manual or with it removed. I've used loads of WD40. Any tips from anyone who has done this? Not sure whether applying heat as I did for the drive nut will help. Any help would be much appreciated and I'll update on progress if I manage to get further!
Cheers
Stephen

I have worked on 2 or 3 of these but it was some years ago so my memory is fading. I thought once the drum was out you could lift the tub off the tube to get at the bellows seal and gearbox. I'm not sure you need to remove the part you are trying to remove.

Hi Phil

I had to get the bowl support off as the face seal has gone. I managed in the end by removing the outer tub and using some gentle persuasion with a hammer. I will replace the bellows seal while I am at it and hopefully that will solve the leaks. This is the first time I've worked on one of these machines so wish me luck in getting it all back together!

Service Manual

Hi Stephen.

I have an old service manual for the 9605, if you need a copy please let me know.

Hope you get the machine fixed.

Cheers

Paul.

Hi Paul

That would be great if you could email me one. I've managed to track down the parts I need after a few failed attempts - didn't realise how hard they are to come by for these machines so hopefully I will have it up and running in the next week or so. Will let you know.

Must say I'm well jealous of your 1509. I'd love an older TL but I guess this is the next best thing.

Hotpoint parts

I have a few bits and bobs lying around if there is anything you cannot find give me a shout and I will look through the boxes of parts I have acquired.

Hi Paul

Thanks so much for sending that through. Really useful as the one I had was for the previous model so now the part numbers are showing up. I have the parts now so will put it all back together at the weekend if I can remember which way up the face seal goes!

Austin - thanks for the offer. I think I have managed to get everything I need other than a new worktop for it - the one it came with is rotten but I can live without it for now.

Will report back
Stephen

9605 Manual

Hi paulinroyton

I would really appreciate a copy of this manual if you still have it? My 9605 has started leaking water and I don't Know how to take it apart?

Thanks
