Whilst looking at the new Hotpoint vacuums I came across their new irons. I thought this one sounded very interesting.

Paul, that's a high power iron for sure (almost 11 amps at 240V!). I'll try to get one when they coume out in September, my country is 220V. I don't think such a powerful model could be sold for 110V though.

I've always wanted a steam generator iron but was put off by the bulkiness of the unit, this seems to be an ideal solution.

That Hotpoint looks like a very bulky iron to manoevre and surely it would get quite heavy when filled with water? One of the advantages of the typical Steam Generator arrangement is the smaller, lighter iron, but they are indeed very bulky to store and just keep on the ironing board whilst in use. I keep toying with the idea of getting one but get put off. Besides, the one I've used didn't achieve what I want - the ability to iron cotton shirts without having to dampen them first, although the overall finish is certainly superior.
