Hotpoint Liberator De Luxe 1851-03

Now I need a good weekend, warm weather and no interruptions to rebuild the machine, I’m going to be so cautious on the rebuild, will have to ware white cotton gloves.

Also the powder coaters have my latest find, the Hoover constellation 867A to strip and re-coat.

OMG Lee!

Your 1851-03 is going to look superb!

Was wondering how the machine was doing and whether you had heard back from the powder coaters yet. Going to be a very careful process of putting back together, I bet!

Be interested to hear over the coming months how durable the finish is, as I have a couple of machines that could do with the same treatment.

What shade of blue/purple did you use on the chassis? Looks like a great colour match to me, based on the pictures of the original paintwork.

Seems like its the season for purple Hotpoints coming back together again - have some news re my Hotpoint 1509/05, which was rescued from the school in Plymouth. Will post my news soon!

Roll on your 1851/03 - cant wait to see it in all its 1975 glory.

I will have to ask when I fetch the rest of the panels; I let them choose the blue, asked them to mach it with the best blue in there stocks of powders.

How durable the finish is, I’m too scared to find out, it’s all wrapped up in bubble wrap, time will tell if it start to desegregate or rust.

I’m pleased I had it done and cost £75 cash sale for the whole job.

Have fun Lee!

Have you got the white gloves to hand?
I would be a nervous wreck, putting it all back together again, but I REALLY cannot wait to see the finished result.
I am sure it will look superb.

Roll on Saturday!

Paul
