Picked up these on Saturday morning in good condition. The 1535 was a bit of a surprise, it is my first New Generation Hotpoint and it's an Exclusive model, I don't know exactly how rare it is but the sad part is that it is based on the basic 95130 and it lacks the original door or trim but luckily the trim isn't that noticeable but the door is annoying because the replacement Polar white one doesn't 100% suit it. I might try my luck at the spares shop that were so helpful to me before, they have some NOS so maybe they can help. Doubt any of you guys would have a grey door for it? It's from 1985 anyway and it works perfect it's actually really clean inside and out!

The Reversair shows much more use with the usual scratches in the drum and door area but that's just from zippers and studs I suppose. It also seems to have the same wear are the buttons seen on many Liberators with that faded kind of effect. The clockwork timer needed lubricated because it wouldn't countdown so I'm thinking that it ran for a good few hours and overheated by the smell of the drum, there was some cremated fluff about. However once the timer was refitted and the machine was turned on it all worked fine and the heaters were inspected to find that all is in safe working order. I suppose if I run it with some bounce or even run it outside for a while it will smell much more pleasing. I am really interested in how the reversing mechanism works it's so simple and accurate every 70 seconds. Venting the bugger will be tricky because its like an oversized compact!

Dryer

Lovely finds especially the Ti Creda Dryer.

Now if only they was a very very old late square door 70s Ti Creda Washer to be found, it will happen.

James!!!

Love it! Love it! Love it! That's all I can say alongside 'Congrats!'! Love these Hotpoints in the grey, fingers crossed a door will kick up! May be getting something on the lines of a L*******r soon lol as well as an AEG 16800 :D

Seamus, yes, Gary (Electron1100) did find one but it got scrapped.

Thanks Chris, I have grown used to the basic quirkiness of my exclusive now. Sadly I cant get a door locally. I have feeling that this machine will be keeping its polar one for a long time but it doesn't really throw me off, sure white door, white cabinet, the side and lid strips are white and original as some photos prove so it's not exactly Picasso. Trying the dryer out tomorrow and I suppose I could boil the 1535 up.

great finds once again, and 2 nice machines that I'm sure will do the business 4 u, my Nana has a Creda Debonair tumble dryer with 2 dials which would of matched the Micron washing machine and best of all, it's still going strong 2day, built like a tank these dryers lol :)

English Electric

Yes, I think that washer would normally be English Electric but I suppose having the word "English" in the makers name would not have been a good idea in Ireland in those days. It might be possible to paint the door surround.

James

Are you entirely sure the door isn't original? The reason I say this is that the door has a grey handle and the side strips are white. The English Electric version had grey side strips if I recall. It is possible the machine was manufactured with a white door to match the white side strips and the addition of the grey handle to match the facia.

Well, we'll see.

Anyway, I've just got a new machine, this pic may help! Hope you like it James! And an AEG 16800 too, but this is the best!

English Electric

An EE Washer came in to work some time ago now, I don't think I saved it as it had too much wrong with it
The Reversair was my first reversing dryer and it was about 1980 that I had it, so its not to surprising its a bit knocked about

Hey guys,

Thanks for the nice words, I think I will just live with the white door even if it's not 100% original. The strips are white so that will ease the pain haha! A lot of work will be going on in the shed of the next 3-4 weeks so I wont be able to clean and test it just yet. The Creda Reversair although working fine, smells horrible when running, I think it hasn't been used in ages because the drum and the elements have that "old" smell if you know what I mean. The elements are clean I just think it's old dust heating up. It will still keep going for another 30 years yet I can guarantee.

James.
