Hotpoint First Edition

Hi CJ! Thanks for the replicas, the only extra thing with the WM53 and other WD/WM series is that it doesn't have that flower symbol before the final spin, unlike 95,97,99 series and it doesn't have a double rinse shower, but not that it is that important! Very good detail though!

Do you think you could do the Creda versions of the Aquarius WMs (Excel 1200) and the WM11?

Cheers!

Creda Aquarius Replica's

Hi Brandon,

No probs, I'll get onto it shortly.

As far as the details on the 01st Edition's're concerned, sorry, didn't realise they didn't have the softener icon on them.

As for the rinses icon, it was the only icon I could find in my database of UM's, that didn't become mis-shaped when scaled down, that one's used on the Hoover Nextra range, but kept it's shape when very small.

WM22 kNOB

Thanks Craig,

For the pic of the knob, I changed the drying symbols for the doughnut shape icon for the stop position, I know the QW icon's in the wrong sector, but personally, it should be in the Cottons programme for the fast spin dry phase.

In honesty, I've edited one pic of the knob, across most of the range of manual/mechanical timer machine replica's, saves time faffing about for each replica.

The manual/mechanical timer machines seem to be quite a common appearance on Ebay, there's a WD22 up for £25 atm. My Grandma had the almond fascia/door/kick plate & light brown cabinet version from 03rd Jan, til October/November 2008, great machine, even though it was like your WM22, a 1000RPM model, I usually only allow 1250RPM+ machines into my category of “worth it”, unless it’s got a good visual design, below 1200RPM, I don’t usually bother with, but it was a convenient option at the time we got it, as the previous washer’d just given up, after 09 years of unreliable survice due to the bearings.

The only prob we had with it was it tended to blow the main house fuse, so no lights, no sockets worked after tripping. It went to my Grandfather for a while because his laundry was being mixed up or lost at the launderette, when he got the WD22, Grandma upgraded to her 06 yr old Ultima WD860, which she's still got.

We only ditched it because when it ended up in storage after my Grandfather passed, I had been scouting round for my Zanussi JetSystem WJD1667W, & at the time, Mum & Dad only allowed me the one machine, so Grandma & I were forced to ditch it through Ebay. The buyers, came from somewhere near Pickering, Yorkshire, not too far from where I actually collected my WJD1667W.

The odd thing I noticed was that the dryer vent sort of hung down from the 12 o clock position of the drum, instead of being integrated into the drum/ddor seal, I noticed that unlike our WD22, the WD31 had the vent integrated to the doorseal.
My “Categories for machines are as follows:

400RPM-1000RPM = WOT > Waste Of Time
1000RPM-1200RPM = T&G > Touch & Go (Depends on design)
1200RPM-1400RPM = Ok > Some’re better than others
1400RPM-1800RPM = Worth it (Depends on design & features required)

When I've got my USB handy, I'll post a pic of the WD31 version.

Creda Model Codes

Hi Brandon,

The VW/FW reference were the last few letters in the model code that you asked for the replica of.

Some brands don't use letters in reference to colours like Hotpoint does, some refer to the features of the machine, or brand identity codes, like WPS on Miele washers, stands for Water Protection System.

Hope that helps.

CJ.
