Hi I have just gotten my first dishwasher! It is a Hotpoint top load model however I can't find any info about it on line. It runs great and it has a butcher block top. I would love to have an owners manual or a reference to figure it out. Thank You I will try to get a picture up. I'm sure that will help. Thank you

Very nice scans!

I always liked the top loading design....they were so much easier to place in a small kitchen vs. the front load models. You didn't have to worry about space for the door to open. We had an old Kitchenaid top loader when I was a small child, and my aunt had a Lady Kenmore top loader. Both were great machines....washed well (for the time) and lasted forever. If they had still made the top load portables, I would have one in my kitchen right now. Alas, most of the models are far past the age for being a practical "daily driver"

Note that the cheap model has a detergent "cup," a slanted-out at the top, tapering toward the bottom, plastic half funnel where the detergent was poured and even though the cheap model has as many water changes as the upper model, the detergent was LONG GONE by the main wash. I wonder if it would have washed better if they skipped the water changes and did a 25 minute wash with the Calrod running. Might not have been sufficient water changes to get rid of the heavy soil. Note, too, how the pot smasher cycle made the first after rinse part of the wash cycle to give an 18 minute wash. Hotpoint-made machines had a Pots & Pans cycle also, but it was the same as the regular cycle without a dry period.
