I have a Hotpoint 9605 Electronic 1050 de luxe that I simply don't have room for , plus automatics are not really my thing.
Suds return said he would like one but I'm not sure if it's practical in his flat, anyway it's up for grabs so if Anyones interested , make me an offer.
It's in good condition , no rust , all programes work , no leaks BUT ONE SMALL PROBELM, the programe knob is a push for off pull for on type knob , when you pull it , it comes off in your hand.
It dosnt appear to be broken and possibly is a two minute job to mend.
It would need collecting from Driffield , east Yorkshire.
Have just used it today to do a couple of loads and it's running perfectly.
Contact me direct [email protected]
Cheers boys.

Hi Lance.

Good luck on finding the machine a good home. I would make you an offer, but am top loadered out at the moment, with giving a home to a 1509/05, 15790 and 96702 plus hopefully one other which is possibly in the pipeline.

Glad you sorted out the dial issue - a couple of small screws hold it onto the dial mounting disk at the back.

One thing with these machines - I know you will know it, but I will mention it anyway, as it might be a useful snippet to anyone who takes the machine on.
The natural grabbing point to move these machines is by grabbing the facia right in the middle, or at either side, and pulling towards you = very bad!

Runs the risk of cracking the facia at the mid point and both ends as the facias go brittle over time. Always drag/move 96-series toploaders by holding the bodyshell, never the facia.

Really hope it goes to a good home and a bit gutted I can't accommodate one myself, as it would be nice to have added it to the line up.
Let us know how it goes.
Paul

Lance, I would love that machine, thing is, I can't even offer you £1! I have alot on at the moment, and I would have to remove lodgers machine then cut the work top. If I had no auto here I would gladly take it off your hands. Plus I have no way of picking it up. Maybe in 6 months time!

Fairy snow

Hi sudsreturn, never mind, if I've still got it in 6 months time I will let you know.
By the way , after our chat the other night I googled fairy snow and then emailed proctor and gamble who make it.
Turns out they no longer make it and there is no more stock of it,
So if you do see any , grab me a couple of packets please. Cheers.

Hi. Maybe able to offer your machine a home for you in my garage if I can persuade the other half... Let me know if you would like that. Regards Chris

Hmmm, well things may have changed, and will change more very soon. I might be able to take it off your hands after all, but will have to e-mail you about sorting it out. Not like I'm gonna get an offer like this again, with you being so close to where I live!!

Top loader

Hi Mike , no it's just a brown facia with cream writing etc.
Chris thanks for the offer of storage but a few people have emailed about wanting to buy it, I'm not interested in the money , just want someone to enjoy it.
Thanks again.

How exciting!

Mike - I spy early/mid 1990s red on the fascia with a replacement programme dial sporting the Aquarius era blue/green 0 positions!

Seems to be in good cosmetic condition overall.

Am I jealous? Yes.

Jealous??

SuperElectronic, why should you be jealous? If I am lucky enough to be the new owner of said machine, you should pop round for a plug in and play next time your up north! Lol. Well Lance, I have measured up, ran a few things through my head, and this couldn't come at a better time, as I will be without a washer (Hoovermatic is still poorly and out of action) completely! And what luck to be offered my fave automatic of all time! Only other auto I would have would be a pre-Merloni Hotpoint front loader, always found them quite quick and simple. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

Suds, what's up with the pump exactly? It may be easy to fix if you're happy to have a tinker.

Nothing really wrong with the pump, still works strong, but I think it leaked as the belt kept slipping off, and the pulley bit at the bottom worked its way off at one point. Or, it really could have been the oulet hose leaking that made it slip off constantly, as is did have a few tears from constant boil washing, although I repaired what was outside the machine cabinet with PDFE tape, I never knew if the hose was leaking inside. The top of the pump where the metal wire from the water valve was quite rusted. I took the pump into my local cheap appliance repairer, and I think he still has it, or maybe he is waiting for an old HMDL to come in as scrap.

Well, things are about set in motion of aquiring the HPTL! Hopefull to have it here in a week or two! Had alot of bad luck lately, this is a turn up for the books! Lance, your a star!!
