Hotpoint WM52

Hey all,

I have the chance to get my mits on a Hotpoint WM52. My understanding is that these are pretty reliable and good performance machines. Do you think it's worth replacing my Beko with it? There's nothing wrong with the Beko - it's an ok machine - it just takes 2 and a half hours to do a wash. I miss the days when I could have most of my washing done in that time (when my Mum's old Zanussi was done in an hour). Any opinions or info on these is welcome. Many thanks!

Yes,Yes,Yes! I used to have the WM53 (1200rpm).It rinsed alright and the woollens programme had a great water level.A Cottons 40c programme lasted about 1 and a half hours.The quick wash was excellent.Ours lasted about 8-9 years even after being overloaded on nearly every wash.They can wash anything without trouble.We have washed a Double Duvet,Numerous Pairs of Trainers and Curtains,everything came out clean too!

So i would really reccomend them as a Daily Machine!

Have you tried using the quick wash option? This should reduce the cycle to about 90min (ish) and at 75% capacity still give great results. Alternatively, mum uses the 'daily' load option on hers. With the quick wash engaged it is fine for lightly soiled 75% capacity loads and has good water levels for rinse. About 40min...

Hi,

Unfortunatley, my Beko is the BOL. The only quick wash is the "Mini 30" cycle that doesn't clean things well enough. So I've either got 30mins at 30 degrees or 2hr30mins at 40 degrees. Bit of a bugger really.

Yes the cycles are fast, but they don't wash very well. Would be ok if you only wash small loads of lightly soiled clothes, but if like us it is to be used to wash sports kit and baby clothes it will be pretty much hopeless.

Theyre not that reliable from my experience, ours broke down a few times and only lasted 4 years.

Older Hotpoints are very easy to repair and fun to use, that's their charm for me, but from my experience, that's where the charm ends.

I had a WM52 and expected great things after having had a 9534...i was sorely disapointed and hated it. Wasn't very good at all. But by some machines of todays standard i'd say it would be better than alot of BOL models.

those hotpoints/ that hotpoint is good and relible and washvery well my cousuon had one be fore she moved out of her flat i luved it lol
