How can I watch my Whirlpool Cabrio washer wash with the lid open?

I have a three year old whirlppol cabrio washer. I want to watch it wash. But it will not operate with the stupid lid open. How can I watch it with the lid open?

We never figured it out in the five days our Cabrio lasted in our house, before it was sent back to meet its maker. Apparently it has to do with placement of a magnet under or near the lid latch. We tried and nothing worked.

Depends on which model you have......plenty of videos on YouTube showing ways around the lid switch.....I have a glass window, and still use it with the lid open....it can be done!....if you want to follow and go the routes these guys are taking...
