Yes, took a peek and noticed that same thing. However it must be said, considering some of the merchanise he sells, I wouldn't want it to be known I bought it either.

Did you see the "Coloured" sign from Atlanta? Only heard and read about those things, never thought one would see one.

Missed that the first time. There are a lot of people that collect Black Americana. I really don't think that's why he does it, and it's not because he's selling expensive things! Got me! Maybe it's an IRS thing. Some people are weird like that! Because if you think about it you can keep track of what someone is bringing in if you really want to. Maybe it's his ex-wife or something! LMAO

Re. "White only" and "Colored only" signs: Right now we still have the same problem, but the sign hangs above the county recorder's offices when it comes to marriage. "Heterosexual couples only." Europeans and Canadians can't understand why Americans have this cultural tendency to discriminate and scapegoat.

Designgeek,a lot of it has to do with the fact that there are a lot of people out there that are so afraid to be themselves(closet queens and such)and go and take the straight mask and put it on living a lie for so long untill they can't take it anymore .Then, after a few children and some years of marrage, they go out and pick up someone of the same sex and ruin a relasionship that should never have happened.Who becomes the victim? The wife or husband(depending on whether it's the wife or husband who admits they're gay),the children and sometimes the lover. All this because we live in a country that has so many hangups with anything to do with sex.I think it may be that a lot more people are sexualy abused as children either by parents, realatives,or even a neighbor and are either too ashamed or afraid to face it or admit it.

Actually I didn't win...

But as a runner up I was able (a couple of years ago) to find a sign which I got him.

My brothers husband (thats probably not polltically correct but he is what he is) happens to be named Lance...

Anyone seen those vending machines that carry a line of LANCE brand snacks? Here in the south they're rather common.

Happened upon a sign one day that said "Lance tastes good with anything!" done with their signature logo.

Couldn't help myself :)
And yea, it is a little cheesy...

LOL, I believe I've been carrying a package of Austin-whatever peanut butter or cheese crackers in my snackie-sack for a couple days.

My dad had a stand of Lance glass jars with red lids at his service station for years.

I got some old White only and colored only signs that were on E-bay. I imagine they were old restroom signs or something. Just below the two signs are dirty clothes hampers!

Lance

I remember Lance in the vending machines at the laundromat. The big thing was to get a "post mix" (per Kenmore1978) soda and some Lance peanutbutter and cheese crackers and wait for the dryer. Tell me, do you think those cheese crackers use artificial colouring?

Here on the west coast we currently have a line of snax imported from Mexico that are called Penguinos. The packages have pictures of penguins on them. Basically similar to Hostess, i.e. the cupcakes with the little squiggle across the top, etc.

These were, a few years ago, something of a hit with people who work a lot with the Linux operating system. The official logo for Linux is, of course, a penguin.

In my organization we have a term for snacks containing lots of sugar and chocolate, particularly when accompanied by a beverage containing lots of sugar, and/or lots of caffein, various mildly stimulant herbs, and/or added vitamins & minerals particularly the B vitaimins: "Coder Fuel." As in, "d00d, I've been up all night scripting (or programming a phone switch, or whatever), and I'm not done yet! I gotta go get some coder fuel!"

Speaking of soda: Jarritos mandarin! Also from Mexico, and fairly easy to find here in California. Sweeter and tastier than regular American orange sodas. I think the Mexican soda manufacturers have kept their formulas good & sweet rather than being scared away from sugar or something. Anyway, it's one of my favorites.
