Ok how does one catch bronchitis??? We spent this am at Duke's ER cause Johnny (my b/f) was soo sick.. Ughhh... I am hoping i don't get it. I am sick as it is so..
How does on get Bronchitis???

Bronchitis literally means inflammation of the bronchi, which are the branches of the airways in the lungs. Many things inflame the bronchi, including viruses, bacteria, and allergies. The bacteria and virus infections can be spread by direct contact (shaking hands, etc.), aerosol (someone in the same room sneezes and the infectious agent becomes airbourne then is inhaled), or by fomites (contaminated inanimate objects such as door knobs).

You should be able to find more than you care to know by...
doing a Google or Yahoo search. I can tell you, as a person who suffers from severe Bronchitis at least once a year, that it is a inflamation of the bronchial tubes and the more that you cough the more that it becomes inflamed. Sometimes requiring medical intervention. One of the best things that you can do, at home, is to breath in steam. This helps sooth the bronchial passages. A cool mist vaporizer or an electric tea kettle or just a pan of boiling water will work. I have spent many nights propped up over a simmering pan of water. There is a prescription medication called Benzonate 100mg which is generic for Tessalon 100mg Perles. These worked well for me so he may want to to ask if it would be good for him.
I hope that he is feeling better very soon. It's miserable!
