Model 30WP

Looks better than average, remember these are getting close to triple digits in age. I've brought back ones much worse than this with ease.

BTW, this is a Model 30WP with the rare pump option.

Brad Ross has some great YouTube clips on restoring these.

Oooooh yeah okay I’m definitely getting it, I’ll be swapping

my model 80s with this one, as I’ll probably be able to make use of it more often as the seller said it is operational By the way, does this use similar sort wringer roller style to the model 80? As that way I would know I’m able to have some spares

And how is the pump activated? Does it run all the time?

"And how is the pump activated? Does it run all the time?"

Maytag wringer washers with pumps only were user activated.

Small lever near base of tub swings between "on" and "off" to activate pump.

Thing is pump or no all Maytag wringer washers would drain water from tub if hose is lowered towards floor.

Even on models with pumps Maytag recommended when wash day was over and machine drained via pump to lower hose in order to drain any remaining water out of sump.

The wringer rolls and mechanism is different to the original Model 80 but the entire wringer head swaps right into place. Most Model 80's I've seen have a newer Model 90/Model A/Model 30 wringer head on them.

What a damn shame...

I can see using a ratted out one for a mailbox and spray bombing it with paint but not clean example with the rare pump option. See if you can persuade them with additional $$, it usually works.

Nevermind, $250 is more than twice the amount I would pay.

I scored a minty 30WP for $50 with a working pump that's whisper quiet and doesn't leak a drop of water. Got it from the original owner where it was parked in the same house since new, in the 1930's. Kind of weird being the second owner of an appliance that's almost 100 years old.
