I'm really good at checking pockets before laundry but yesterday I washed and dried a freaking INK PEN and when the dryer buzzed I went to put away the clothes and there was INK all over the white dryer drum. It looked like someone just flung dark ink with small and large ink splotches all over the drum. But how is it possible that there wasn't a speck of ink in any of the mixed load of lights I did? I couldn't believe it! The entire load should have been covered in ink stains based on what the dryer drum looked like! I was able to use a little bit of Comet to get the ink out of the drum and then rinsed and wiped the drum down really well. CrAzy!

I have also washed ink pens with no ink left on laundry.  I guess maybe your pen somehow got in a position where something pressed it against the dryer drum causing it to write?  The ink probably dried almost instantly on the hot drum.

I would say you were pretty lucky!
