Well, my sister and I share a house and between the two of us, we generate probably 10-12 loads per week. Because of her allergy to scented detergent, we have to do double the loads -= since I insist on a scented product.
Usually my loads consist of:
Towels and face cloths - clean ones are used daily on the advice of my dermatologist..
Whites (includes underwear, t shirts, athletic sox, some sheets
Work shirts -which can be nothing more than long sleeved sport shirts. These are laundered and wet starched at home and taken to a hand laundry for ironing. I actually like to iron, but haven't the time so.......
Jeans, cords and darks
Kitchen towels, place mats and napkins
Casual sox - most are mid weight wool and really need to be washed separately. This is one of those times I REALLY miss my mini basket
Finally, fugitives - you know...those one or two black or navy knit turtlenecks or golf shirts that simply cannot be washed with ANYTHING else
Most laundry gets done EARLY on Saturday morning. Seems like I get up earlier on Saturday so I can have a jump on the weekend Most weeknights I get home around 8:00 and since I get up at 5:00 and am out the door by 6:15, it is just a long day. Sometimes, I will do some towels at night just to keep up and get some quick therapy. Besides between the two of us, we will go through something like 16 bath towels in a week, plus hand towels and face cloths. So on Saturday, I like to get up around 4:30, have some coffee and start washing. No rushing to get out the door, etc... A very relaxing way to start the day.....
