How the ? Do You Change the Bulbs in This Fixture?

This is a dated fixture. I've never had a bulb go out but I've been using this light recently and I was looking at it and I can't figure out how I would change the bulbs if it ever needs it. I looked and tried to unscrew but I was afraid I would break something.....Does anyone know? I googled and couldn't find anything.

yes BARELY - you can't get your hand in there it's too small

My hands aren't that big....I can get my hand through but it's very difficult once your hand is in there. I thought perhaps it came apart so I thought I would ask...

Is one of the upper panels by chance hinged?

I'm guessing that one or more of the upper panels is hinged for access.

It looks really smooth on the upper part, so I dunno. I actually checked that before I posted this. Anyway - I'll try to manage and change the bulb somehow. There's NO instructions it was here when the house was built in 2004. It's like, once your hand is in there, you can reach up in there, but clinging to the bulb to unscrew it is crazy hard - harder than it looks like it would be...The piece that holds the bulbs actually unscrews, but that piece is too large to fit through the bottom hole, so I'm not even sure why it unscrews. Maybe I will try to unscrew it to lower it somewhat then change the bulbs. This is so stupid!

I would say 1 of those center pieces is some kind of clip,& then you slide out a piece of glass from the top down

Very common 1990-2000ish light.  Usually the center post is hinged so you can push it to one side and relamp.  Pain to clean, washing the inside glass is terribly difficult.  If it's not pivoted you will just have to work your hand in.

I think one explanation might be that generally speaking, the Chinese have smaller hands.

I'm betting on a sliding hinge pin and a panel that swings open too.

I finally saw some of these new LED filament style bulbs in a bar the other day, I couldn't tell they weren't tungsten incandescent! These would largely solve the re-lamping issue although their initial cost is a bit higher ($9.95/ea). Only 2w per bulb, the color temp is a bit low for my liking though.

Having big hands is a pain. I have a real hard time getting into tight places. I would just replace the entire fixture or unmount it, replace the bulbs with either CFL's or LED's.

Use a bulb changer stick type device-we have one at work.Has both a long handle and a short one.The bulb is gripped by a springlike "claw" affair-once the bulb is screwed intro the socket it releases-you can also use the changer to remove bulbs.I don't use it-the janitorial staff uses the device.The changer device should fit thru the lower lamp fixture opening.Yes,the use of LED or CFL bulbs would lesson the chore of replacing lamps.My fat hands wouldn't fit inside that fixture either.Would have to use the bulb changer.And you would have to use another hand to hold that lamp still while using the bulb changer in it.
