I have an old gas stove that I want to get cleaned up.

Apparently it is cast iron and enamel.

The timer control is very yucky as is the oven temperature knob.

I'd like to know what the safest (for stove, me and environment) yet still effective product to clean the knobs, timer and surface enamel.

Also like to know what to use to clean up the actual gas valves and gas pipes for the burners and oven.

Would like her to look real nice when I am done, and I do not want to accidentally damage her...she won't be perfect, but neither am I ; )

if touch up paint for the white or black is necessary, does anyone have recommendations?

Thanks so much... I think I may be morphing into a vintage appliance lover...

this link is one just like my stove, except mine is not quite as pretty at the moment...

cleaning old stove

You might want to look for some citra solv cleaner (super concentrated) it can be diluted in water for use as spray cleaner, but I have always used it straight, to cut threw sticky grease. Wipe with viniger and water to finish. Hope this helps!
