Water on the floor... checked behind the machine and everythin' "seemed" dry. "Shit my Huebsch is leaking"... I was pi**ed off... False alarm, it was the cold inlet hose. This is just a reminder to you all. Follow the manufactures instructions and change your hoses every 5 years. And don't think you will get longer millage with braided stainless steel hoses. In my case, the hose was not at fault. It was the (sorry, don't know the english word) the "twisting thing" at both ends that had corrosion problem (original Alliance hoses). And furthermore, close your valves after each use. To leave a hose under pressure in your home is not a good idea. My downstairs neighbour is happy I did that... :)

I had the same thing happen a few years ago

only it was the connection to the steam dryer.  The hose corroded right at the threads and split on the metal part not the rubber.

My  incident happened on Christmas eve just as we were sitting down to dinner.  I now have braided stainless steel hoses, and I turn the water off after each use.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery (small door) FL washer & dryer in the house and I'm pretty sure I used braided stainless hoses when installing them after moving in 16 years ago.   They're stacked and I can't get to the water valves without removing the dryer first.   So far I've not had any leaks (knock wood).
