T'was On the Monday Morning

I have been looking for a copy of this for YEARS!

It was produced by the Electrical Association For Women, an organisation created to make women aware of the new labour saving electrical devices being brough to the market. It was not manufacturer specific and existed from around 1935 until (I think) 1984.

A loop of this film runs in the Science Museum in Manchester in their textile manufacturing exhibit

And now some English Electric

Probably cimema ads again although its concievable the first could have been shown on TV. The second is definatly cinema advertsising - God knows what they were smoking when they came up with that one! This EE liberator shares a great deal of its design with the Hotpoint Supermatic, utilising the earlier style of Hotpoint agitator (although still used on HP Countess) and using a brush style recirculation filter rather than a GE style filter flo arrangement

Currys

No, not a dinner selection but a film about working for an electrical retailer called Currys (who are still, maybe just, in existance). This is not laundry specific but it seemed sensible to include it here. I would guess its from aroun 1962 or so as the Hoovermatic 3334 is pictured
