I saw this on the Netscape News page yesterday. Later this summer (sometime in August) Hydrox Cookies will be back on grocery stores shelves for a limited time. Kellogg's is distributing them since they bought out Keebler (didn't know that)! I put the link in so you can check it out. I don't know about you but I ALWAYS preferred the taste of the Sunshine Hydrox cookies over Oreos! Hopefully there will be enough sales to warrant full distribution once again! After all, it's the 100th anniversary of this famed cookie!

When did Hydrox' go off the market?

Unfortunately I never heard of these.
I do however remember eating Oreos as a kid and loving them.
They were so tasty and chocolaty.

Today's Oreos taste so bland and unexciting compared to back in the day.
Why do they always mess with recipes?

Check out Newman's Own Newman-O's.

They're just like Oreos/Hydrox, except they're made with better ingredients and taste a lot better.

Hydrox Cookies

Hi John,

The Hydrox cookies went off the market in 2003. If you click on the link in my original post, you'll get to the Hydrox page. Click on News Room at the top of the page, then click on Hydrox History. It explains all the details of this famed cookie.

So Keebler bought Sunshine and then Kellogg's bought Keebler? Geez, we're going to be like every other country here in the U.S.A., with like 2 airlines, maybe 2 phone companies, less than 3 car makers, etc. etc. Now it's spreading to the grain industry. Less than a handfull of people will be controlling a staple of the American diet. We are reeling from high gas prices that are clearly being manipulated by a powerful few. Just wait until they start messing with breakfast.

I remember reading recently that Hydrox was gone but it has never occurred to me that it's missing from the store shelves. Just like with Coke & Pepsi, I may taste a slight difference but I'll drink either one. Same with Hydrox and Oreos, Ritz vs Townhouse vs Hi-Ho's, Best Foods (Hellmans for the east-of-the-Rockies crowd) vs Kraft (or even the house brand) but I do draw the line at Mayo vs Miracle Whip. I'm definitely in the mayo camp there.

Yaaaay!

I can't wait. Hydrox were my favorite, and I do miss them. Hope they sell them in Ohio!

The Hydrox cookie itself had a deeper more intense chocolate flavor than Oreo yet did not have as much vanilla cream.
Wonderful flavor.

Lawdy, makes 'ya want to take a few bong-hits and head for the kitchen.

Nabisco is Now Part of Kraft Foods

I vaguely remember the Hydrox brand cookies as they were a better bargain, but tasted good. We drove mother nuts eating up the package every time she brought one home from the store.--Laundry Shark
