I got these for free dryer works but the lady said the washer wouldn't drain the water out and she had to dip it out with a bucket however I had no problem with it draining but when I put it on spin sometimes it would spin and sometimes it wouldn't and sometimes it would start to take off and then kind of drag an stop, other times it takes off and spends fine, But i don't think it's spinning in full speed either, it's not stuck on gentle because it spins slower on gentle? It agitates fine! I don't know very much about these kenmores so any help/suggestions would be great

First thing to try is tightening the belt, I've seen other WP/KM act like that when the belt is too loose.
Unplug machine, take off the small rear lower panel. Right near the left top of the rear opening, there is a bolt on top of the baseplate, holding the motor in place. Loosen the bolt, use a huge screwdriver as a lever to push the motor towards the left side of the washer(as viewed from the rear)
Tighten that bolt, plug her in and check the spin and pumping!

Doug,

I have several Hotpoint catalogs from the 1980's, which is when this would have been offered, but this exact model is not featured in any of them.  While this one is very-well equipped, the TOL model would have had 5 programmed selections and the Handwash feature.  Nice find!
