I added a nearly new Electrolux 24" washer to the mix!

Plug into the dryer?

The reason I went with the GE 24 inch washer was because it had an accommodation to plug the washer into the dryer. (The laundry room in my condo is set up with a 240 dryer outlet only). I would have went with the electrolux but there was no mention of being able to plug the washer into the dryer.

Should our Miele w1986 die I've considered this washer (cheaper than a Miele) but was concerned with longevity/reliability.  Don't want nor need a behemoth that can't spin a smaller load (nor will it fit in the laundry closet) and the smaller washers work fine for us...used to European machines for the past 22 years with Asko and Miele...even with a king-sized bed in the house.

Here are my AEG labelled equivalents

Like those so much i have had 3 sets! First set in a hall closet 2012 -2018 and the bought them new again toward the end of that range’s life as they had included some upgrades and paired them with the new generation when I renovated and made more laundry space. The deal easily with mid weight super king comforter/duvet and very very rarely battle to spin a load.

AEG Protex

Hey Mike

Thanks - adore my setup - if I had to do it again I’d have gotten 2 sets of Protex’s as opposed to the adding the new/current generation. Most popular cycle is cotton 60 and there isn’t a set time she will adjust according to the load - as little as 1 hour 20 min for a light load up to 3 hours + for a heavy absorbent load and one can also layer in 1 or 2 timesave program shortening options. Another favourite is the Duvet cycle which is lengthy , gentle yet thorough with good rinsing. Also not a fussy spinner in fact distributes and spins beautifully, more stable and adept at distributing the load than the newer machine which is good but has left a soggy load on the odd occasion after having given up (ie when the load of bedding has crawled inside the fitted sheet for example).

Thank you to all! 😁

Brendon: Wow what a great set up you have and a beautiful laundry room! I have been fairly impressed with my little Electrolux version! However one thing I noticed about it and don’t care for, is it does not spin between the rinses. However I’ve only run the Normal cycle (w/o eco option), I will have to try others and see what it does.

Cathy: Thank you! The LG only does one or “maybe” 2 loads per week and it still going strong so far. I really like that it will spin even it it’s off balance!

Lakewebsterkid: Thank you! I DO have a Neptune 6500, it’s just not currently in the line up. Interim spins? If you mean the E-lux, so far no, see above.

Mike: Thank you so much!

Kevin
