1. I have to give YOU credit for posting this. Not sure how old you are.... but you seem like you have some good common sense. You know something is wrong and your seeking out help. Good Job!

2. I'm sure you are learning from all the different posts that this is not a simple problem. It is very complicated! Many roads to choose and explore.

3. I agree with ALR2903. Talk to YOUR parents for advise. I do believe in "multiple minds". Sometimes it is a good way to learn. They might have some great advise and I'm sure they will want to point YOU down the right road for this issue.

4. One of the best things you can do as her friend is BE the good exsample. Showing her your strength not to do drugs. YOU can survive just fine with out them.

5. Remember you can not live her life. You can only live YOURS. Once again I'm impressed that you are pro active, trying to do the right thing! RIGHT ON!

Lot's of good advice here

which is neat.
One thing I notice, those of us who teach see things very differently to those who don't.
I wonder if that is because our experience of reality has shown us that their are limits to the theoretical expression of individual self-actualization or whether we are so emotionally involved in our students' well being that we see drug abuse as a health concern.
Beats me.
Generally speaking, I am all for letting people live their own lives. I do wonder, though, if the folks telling Fred to mind his own business are aware of the consequences for his friend in today's America? With zero-tolerance and mandatory sentencing guidelines, it is only a question of time before the kid ends up in the 'loving' embrace of social services, the judicial system and all that that means. We do not grant kids the freedom to grow-out of their bad decisions today. They get permanent criminal records (forget all that 'sealed at 18 stuff in Colorado and Wyoming), they are taken from their schools and families...
