I just purchased a 2019 &#92 2018 Speed Queen commercial homestyle electronic control panel washer (LWNE22SP115TW01) and converted it to a 2017 residential unit (AWNE92SP113TW01). The commercial washers shares all the same internals as the 2017 residential unit except the control panel so all I had to buy was a 2017 electronic control panel, part number 202769P. This gives me more cycle options and the ability to select water level. Everything seems to work and I am thrilled that I was able to basically make a 2017 Speed Queen unit even though they are no longer in production.

I'm assuming you paid about 1000 bucks for yours, and what, 200 for the panel??? (no idea)

list it on ebay!!! Last awn 'new in box' brought $1875... FOB!!
Man, I'd sit in my shop all day long converting these over for $600 profit... but, before you buy a full semi-load, remember that the ebay one was not paid for 2 or 3 times too. It may be 'up for sale' next week again!!

;)

rancherman,

I paid ~$1260 total.

Washer was $979 delivered

Control panel was $273 plus $9 shipping but is now listed for higher. The control panel was suppose to be new but came in a anti-static bag that was opened (had the tape cut) which had me worried but the panel worked

All in this is a lot of money for what it is, I only resorted to this as after looking for months and not being able to find a relatively new used unit in my area. The other crazy thing about the 2017 Speed Queen unit that sold for $1875 on ebay is that did not even include shipping. I saw some 2017 Speed Queen electronic units sell for $2K on ebay early last year as people found out they were going away.

What did panel add to the LWNE22SP115TW01

Impressive conversion. I've pondered connecting a tablet or laptop up to a SQ TL giving complete control of all settings.

Curious how the LWNE22SP115TW01 compares to the AWNE92SP113TW01 and what features you got with the added panel? I have a 2017 model AWNE92SP I picked up new in early 2018. The level of control over water and no drain on canceled cycle features are a must have for me.

Since SQ's 2018 model changes I've also wondered if the FL LWNE22SP115TW01 and LWN432SP115TW01 and LFNE5BSP115TW01 are any good since SQ residential FL are no more.

dylanmitchell,
Once you swap out the control panel the washers for all intents and purposes are identical. The controls will operate identically. If you dive through the part manuals you will find they share basically all the same parts. The only part number difference I can find is the residential models transmission is part number 203768 and the commercial models part number is 38165P.

The control panel appears to talk to the output board that controls the motor through a simple UART interface. It probably wouldn't be too hard to make your own custom controller with a raspberry pi if you wanted.

Nice way to get great washer in 2019

Thanks Luke. Nice way to get a 2017 series SQ. Custom controller with a raspberry pi is a tempting project for my SQ. Also a great way to bring old machines back to life.

Very Cool

Good stuff and great to know. I bought an 8 series 2017 model in 2018. I really wanted the 9 series, for the longer wash time using the whites option, but that's all they had left. So I compared a parts manual for the 8 and 9 series and found the only difference was the control panel part #s, so I did the same thing with the panel change to make it a 9 series with more options. Works great, bought my 9 series panel off of ebay as well.

I wonder if there really is a substantial difference between the two transmissions. If so, what would be the difference?  I can see that a transmission for commercial use would definitely need to be beefier.

eurekastar,

It has been four months now with zero issues and absolutely love the beast. All parts between the 2017 residential and 2018+ commercial units are the same except the transmission so I do not expect any future issues. I also like the look of the white front control panel cover of the commercial units, I think it gives a cleaner look.

different transmission

the commercial (coin-op) SQ TL used to have a smaller size tub than the home machine.
,,,,, has that changed ???
therefore transmission has different shaft length.

cleanguy,
The commercial homestyle units use the same outer tub (200511P) and inner tub (719P3) as the 2017 and prior residential units, thus they are the same capacity. The coin operated units are smaller.

Update on the transmission:
I did some more digging and the 2015 revision of the residential parts manual (203417) lists the same part number for the transmission in the residential and commercial unit (38165P). In the 2017 revision of the residential parts manual (203417R5) the part number for the transmission changed to 203768 so it is likely an updated part number and not a different transmission.

If you want to look at the parts manuals you can search google for the part manual part number. You can type "Alliance 203768" for example to look at the residential unit parts manual. The dates listed below are the revision date of the manual not the date of the machines that it covers.
Residential parts manual part numbers: 203430 (2015), 203430R5 (2018)
Residential parts manual part numbers: 203768 (2015), 203768R5 (2017), 203768R8 (2018), 203768R9 (2018)

So with this new data all the parts between the 2017 residential unit and the 2018+ commercial homestyle units are the same except the electronic control panel and front decorative cover.[this post was last edited: 4/19/2019-19:40]

Thanks for doing the research. Used 2017 and prior are hard to find and often marked way up. This is a great way to get a new washer with the desirable 2017 and prior functions.

I'll have to look up the FL LFNE5BSP115TW01 LFN50RSP115TW01 22 lb and see if there's a panel to give them more features. Like to have a 2017 SQ FL style control.
