I have been after this one for about 15 years or so, To make a really long story moderately long...A very good longtime friend of my family and one of my Grandmothers oldest friends passed away in the late 90s, She was one of the very few people who I knew who cooked on gas,She got her first stove in 32 when She and her husband were building their house, the gas line was being ran from Hickory to Lenoir, and their new house was on that road, now Old US 321, then the main highway, Anyway, the gas company representative offered them a deal on a range and no charge for installation, or plumbing, also they sent a home economist to teach her how to use the stove, and if they were not satisfied, absolutely money back guarantee! well, needless to say, it beat the devil out of burning wood, the first stove was traded in about 49 or 50 or so on a new Magic Chef, And man did I get some good vittles off that thing as a kid, she was a wonderful cook, I can see her in my mind, making cookies, she only used 1 cookie sheet, but she baked the cookies on waxed paper, when 1 batch came out, she slid the paper off onto a cooling rack, then slid a fresh batch right back on the hot pan and back in the oven...anyway, when She died, my cousin bought the house for rental property, the renter who had been there since then moved, and my cousin put in an electric stove..so guess who finally got the old Magic Chef! Im going to set it beside the Norge and have 77 inches of stove, 3 ovens, 8 burners and a griddle!!! Talk about overkill!!!
