Frankly, if this one fills to the top row of holes, I'd keep it and look for another machine for your Dad. Find him a nice inexpensive WP or something.

I'm so glad you have a video camera! Can't wait to see the straight-vane agitator in action. I have a sneaking suspicion it will produce a more vigorous washing action than my dual-action job. Mine suffers from deriving all the agitation power from four skinny little fins at the very bottom of the agitator. It really whips up a storm for small and medium loads, but once the tub is filled to capacity with water and clothes, there just isn't enough 'action' in my opinion.
With your straight-vane, there's wash action the whole length of the agitator, which makes more sense. Makes me wonder if they changed the agitator design to the dual-action because it actually increases rollover, or if they changed it just because everyone expects to see a dual-action in a washer these days. The cleaning score in Consumer Reports for the Frigidaire TL'er decreased once they changed to the d/a agitator...
