Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

A beauty! Take it from the person who owns one... LOL

The water level switch would likely prevent the washer from advancing from fill into to agitation. Have you tested the timer on the 'spin only' selection?

Congratulations on your find!

Beauitful 1965 Lady Kenmore

It looks to be in pretty good condition, if it fills up and the water cuts off and it starts agitating the WLS is OK and you likely have a timer-timer motor problem.

The 1964 LKM was the first time Sears offered a 3 speed motor, WP offered it the next year and GE even went one better and had a four speed clutch on their TOL model that gave agitation strokes per minute of 40-50-60 and 80 SPM.  Even SQ offered a 3 speed motor and HP and WH had two piece agitators where the outer more aggressive one could be removed for more gentle washing.

Every decent automatic washer maker soon offered an extra gentle way to wash clothing except Maytag, the one that needed it the most, LOL.

No one...

Can blame you.

If I had seen that Lady Kenmore somewhere, I'd be singing the same song too.
Because I would have to have it!

CONGRATULATIONS on that beauty!
:o)

Cool-down sequence

Was 1964 also the year Kenmore debuted the second version of their Permanent Press cool-down sequence? (Low-speed partial drain, fill & agitate, fill only, agitate when full, repeat.)
