I like my new LG 3700 so much

I will be putting it up on a pedestal.

Okay okay. So when I bought it near 2 weeks ago and saw the outlandish asking price for a matching pedestal I said NO. $280 for a metal box to sit there holding up a washer. Being as I had already seen numerous orphaned pedestals in our local Habiat Store I was pleased to learn today that they are open. So it tossed my Pip in the car and set off on our adventure to Habitat.. Lucily it was quite empty and the staff were wearing masks as was I.. So I sauntered over to wear I could see a washer on a stand and lo an behold right beside it was and LG pedestal though in white, for a very reasonable price of just $50 no tax and now it is mine.. I just have to figure out what size screws it needs to secure the washer down.. Anyone know what size.. I need 16 of them..

I've been doing extra washes in the 3700 andfiddling etc... the fun stuff. I have to say I'm very happy with its performance and I love the quick 15 minute cycle for a few items. I did a normal load with a fair amount of items and was surprised to see actual water in there sloshing around unlike the Duet ever had.

Glad you like the new LG! I’ve steered several friends to them the past few years and all have been very happy with them. What a bargain on the pedestal, as well. Never had pedestals ‘til the 2015 Maytag set and boy howdy did they make loading and unloading so much easier.

Pete, just be aware

that if you have a wooden laundry room floor, the pedestal raises the center of gravity, and you can have more spin shake and walking. Large anti skid pads are availabvle, and help. Ours in on the concrete basement floor, so no real issue, but if the load is smaller, or at all unblanced, there is a bit of walk. It is level, and the feet locked, but the floor is not perfctly level. That allows thegraviational pitch, or roll to be more on one side.

August follow up

Still loving this machine. The only think I've found it not to do as well as the previous Duet and Filter flo, is that is doesn't do not do as good a job at removing stray hairs here and ther,,particuly when I washed a black golf shirt in large mixed load.. I was line drying them rather than the dryer so that could be the different. Just a realy minor quibbkle more than anything

I'm glad you're having a good experience with your LG...I purchased a 3900 pair about a month ago.  So far, I'm really impressed.  I only wish the dryer had a longer cool down at the end of cycle.

We only use 3 of the kazillion cycles. The regular, heavy duty, and 15 min speed wash with extra rinse it's 18 minutes. With all the hot humid weather I've been getting a lot of use out of that speed wash for my 3 favorite tanktops and 3 fave pair of shorts because within minutes of working in the yard I'm soaked. So in goes what I was wearing for 18 mins while I have my second shower of the morning, put on fresh stuff, hang the now clean ones on the line, and repeat LOL. I find the 2nd rinse gets rid of nearly all the lingering detergent smells which I'm not fond of.

Like you, I like the lingering detergent scents, Persil, Method Gold, Ariel, etc. Heaven. Especially when mixed with the outdoor drying scent. Just don't do the extra rinse, and you can have your nice smells. LOL.

Pete, I love my LG so bad, I don't talk about. It beats the snot out of every machine in the house. For me, a lover of all vintage machines, Easy Spins especially, Maytag & Hoover TT's, every wringer and top-loader ever made--never met a machine I didn't like something about--this is pure heresy, but the God's truth: The LG Steam Turbo Wash leaves them all in the dust.

When you have time, take a cigar down and watch the Clean cycle. Throw a few nasty rags in, and watch the cyclone during the wash, when after doing all its legendary moves like the half tub hurls, the LG then really loses its shit and starts spinning with all that water and suds. It's just nuts. You'll need that cigar.
