I had this shelf custom made and installed above the stove in my kitchen to show off some of my small vintage chrome appliances. I wanted to share some pics .......... :)

Gotta love those vintage smalls!!

Very nice stuff Greg! I think we all love chrome around here!

BTW- that shelf looks to be the correct style for your home. Looks like it could have always been there, and that is the way to do it in a vintage house,IMHO.

Very nice display Greg, that is a beautiful Dormeyer mixer! Does the glass coffee maker have the lights in the bottom that light up? Terry

Nice nice nice, I see you have the GE perc there on the left, a sunbeam coffeemaster , what's the glass perc? I can't quite make it out.
I never seem to run across any Dormeyer anythings, well a perc one time but I let it slip by.

Dormeyer mixer

When I was growing up at home my mom had a Dormeyer mixer. She used it every weekend to make homemade Bread and loved that mixer. But ours wasn't crome our was white. That is the first Crome Dormeyer I have ever seen. Nice picture. Thanks.

We all love chrome!

Very nice collection you have going on!

Is there anything better than a Sunbeam Coffeemaster? I don't think there is. lol

thanks all

thanks for your IMHO Rik, LOL ....... yes Terri, the glass perc lights up, two lights while perking and down to one when keeping warm. Its a Proctor - Silex, My least favorite is the Universal on the right, although stylish to look at, makes OK coffee, whereas the other three make awesome coffee. I never thought it was so much the coffee pot but rather the type of filtration and / or amount and type of coffee you were brewing ............

Gregm:

You are correct when you mention the fact that it's the type of filtration and coffee type that makes a good cup. I have always used those "gold" basket filters in my coffee makers. I think that the paper filters impart a taste to the coffee, even the unbleached ones. Even the Sunbeam Coffeemaster cloth filters don't really impart any taste at all. And those really make great coffee, some of the best I have ever had!

thank again

Thanks all again for compliments and feedback, yes, gansky it is a new storage/display :) AND interesting note whirlcool about coffee filters, I never tried or made the comparison between the "gold permabasket" vs. the paper filters, I will have to do so whereas I do have a gold permabasket.

I have a similar Universal Coffeematic, but mine doesn't have the glass dome in the cover, only a bakelite knob. I also have my grandmother's Dormeyer percolator. I think they both make fine coffee.
