I know it is somewhere in storage, but I didn't realize how irreplaceble it was.

Hamilton Beach, Waring, Toastmaaster, Rival, West Bend....now who was it who made that thing. ok, I'll just browse with google. -hamilton beach hot plate-
results = coffee maker
dang, not listed.

I found my userguide in the file drawer, it was a hamilton beach buffet range from 1986. 2 burners - stainless steel top, 2 heat setting knobs on the top. I cooked for 6 years with it. My idea on moving into my 1st house with a tiny kitchen was "why get a "stove?" there's not enough room in the kitchen for that AND the microwave cart. SO I had the large toastmaster convection toaster oven on the cart above the microwave, and the 2 burner buffet range on the counter. 6 years I used it. Worked fine.

Now I find time and gov't has removed the humble dual burner high btu hot plate from our midst. There are some out there for $300-$400 but no longer the humble Hamilton Beach.

If you still have one of these gems, don't loose it.

(I'm amazed, you type in Hamilton Beach hot plate into google and you get .... nowhere)

There Is Hope, Bill!

The reason you're not getting hits is that these were usually called "table ranges" or "buffet ranges" in the trade. I was able to find a single-burner HB model very quickly with "table range" as a search term; linkie is below. A little more searching and some time with eBay will hopefully turn one of the double-burner models up for you at a reasonable price. Also...

Toastmaster has a 1000-watt model currently available, though this is probably not as powerful as you want:

http://www.amazon.com/Toastmaster-TTS2-Double-Buffet-Range/dp/B00006IV0A

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! There is also this...

A company named Cadco makes a twin-burner chrome buffet range with 1650-watt elements (yes, it's 120v). Here's the URL for that:

Only $91.79, which is a lot better than the prices you mentioned.

Hope this helps.

Wal-Mart Web-Site:

I just went onto the Wal-Mart site and found actually by Hotplate 5-Brands of them listed, including single and dual Burner Units. I'm sorry but I don't know how to add "via" a Link for sure, but I'm sure that if anyone went onto the site, could find them as well and maybe even Link the info onto here.

Peace and Kind Regards, Steve

Dial up has it's limits, note: Table Range

Thanks,

Those links are very helpful. Perhaps one of the new designs would work. The GE looked to be similar to my old one, 900 watts and 600 watts.

I like the HB Scoville link. That showed a single burner version of my old hotplate. The design seems to have passed away.
