Sorry to post this here but I am not a member of vaccuum world. I just picked up an Electrolux J model vaccuum. I have the power head and wands and the floor attachment and wands but no power hose to connect from the vaccuum to the attachments. Anybody got an extra?

well Jon

who among us couldn't use a "power hose"...... Nice machine there, good luck finding what you need for it.

This is actually a very common model. You may try becoming a memeber of the sister site. It doesn't take long to get approved. You can also try searching ebay or googling "Electrolux Super J, Powered Hose."

www.totalvac.com list one for your machine for $59.95. You can also look at flea markets and used stores. They show up all the time, just unfortunately, not when you are looking specifically for one.

Oldhouseman,

10 minutes on the naughty step, and three Hail Marys before dinner young man.

I am shocked and amazed, Greg, that you beat Toggles to the punch. His PC must be on the fritz today. And I couldn't agree with you more.

Oh my!!! LOL never heard it put quite that way....But I like! With some and I will not mention names but 10 minutes...wow thats a long time but I think its more like a tootsie pop ...a one, a two, a three and its over....

Go around to a few vacuum shops and one of them will surely have a used Elux hose.
I just go a Super J myself about 2 months ago to add to my collection. It's a very nice vacuum. If there is one fault with them it's that the hose is too short, seriously.. LOL

Pigs, whores. sluts. perverts.....no, FRIENDS!

You rang.

*LOL* My work here is done.... (Walks to door with suitcase).

At first I was appalled I tell you. APPALLED, that a vacuum cleaner is on the bed. Then again, it it not an unusual place to put something that sucks, (besides the closet that is).

The linkey is only of you have a sense of humor.

This is a bad ass machine. I have used one before. Impressive. I found a EuroPro Shark vac on the side of the road on a trash pile the other day. I put new cord on it , like new in looks and operation. Thinking about returning my other vac which is like new to wal mart for a refund or shopping card. lol. I think it's a shark or something like that. Cool styling though.

Oh my you mention a power hose and the conversations has taken quite the turn. I am going to check around some local vaccuum shops and see what they have. We have an electrolux dealer here in town and will check what they have. Thanks to all the help. The vaccuum on the bed is ok. The bed is being stripped and moved to another state. This was from my wifes grandmothers house. We just moved her into a nursing home and cleaning out the apartment. What the hell she did with the hose I will never know.

Our economy is going down the toilet

I went to my local Electrolux dealer today to inquire about a new hose. Well low and behold the store was empty. Closed. Cards taped to the door to contact a regional office for parts and service. Another business gone. Next door is Maytag Direct, where you could buy new Maytags for lower prices. They had a big sign on the windows Major blowout sale. All merchandise must go. Store Closing. Another one bites the dust. What the hell? I would not want to be the next president. What a mess there is to take care of.

A web search for "Electrolux parts" comes up with 250+,000 hits. Brick and mortar dealers don't stand much of a chance.

It's a shame, but how many people will pay more to support local businesses?

For Super J parts though you will have to look up Aerus now insead of Electrolux since that's the new name of the company and whether the Aerus dealers are keeping old parts or not who knows..

I contacted the older vaccuum and sewing machine dealer in town and he sold the last hose yesterday. He keeps these in stock. Another order will be coming in next week so I am going to pick one up there. Price isn't bad. 79.00 plus he has bags also. I like to support the local businesses when I can.
