My Kenmore Elite Dishwasher {Model # 66513163K701} Stopped sanitizing a few years ago.

I replaced the heater element. Which is working, I believe.

Also, I have a new Dishwasher Thermostat {WP661566}, which I haven't installed yet because of the bracket.

I'm not sure how to remove it.

Could someone give me tips on how to remove this metal piece?

YouTube had one video about removing the thermostat but never showed how to remove the bracket.

MY, my, my, very short on details.

This is very common when fixing anything on that platform.

The second photo is how it is mounted underneath the door frame.

Non-heating whirlpool built Kenmore dishwasher

Hi Larry, did you run it through a diagnostic cycle after you replaced the heating element?

If the computer detect a fault, it often locks out the heating element on this type of dishwasher and you just run it through the diagnostic cycle and it will re-reset everything

The paperwork inside the panel tells you how to do this. It’s very easy to do. You can also go online and find out how to do it if the paperwork is missing.

I have never replaced one of those thermal limits. I don’t think they go bad very often. But they’re very easy to test before you put the new one in if you like with an ohm meter or simple test light.
