It was a hard choice, But today I saw my 1967 beetle leave! My first car to call my own. So many hours spent in the drivers seat, and so many hours under the hood!

It was time to go. It needed too much, and looked pretty beat up. Was in desperate need of a paint job.

Been looking at all sorts of vehicles. Old VW buses, ford mustangs, etc.

It's always tough to let go of your "first love" but you still have the memories of the time you shared.

There comes a time when you realize it's someone else's turn to enjoy a particular car, and let it go to another loving home.

Have fun hunting down your next one!

The Best is Yet to Come

The wonder of being young is that you can re-invent your self, change your mind and try all the world has to offer. Its good to get an update and know you're doing well. I had just started college when I bought my first Lincoln. Its been a marriage of total fulfillment and satisfaction driving Lincoln's for forty years. Have fun shopping, your whole lifetime of choices lies ahead.

Malcolm, did you say when a Beetle PASSES you on the road?

Going in the opposite direction, I suppose.

Well I bought the 73 bus! 1700CC motor. 7 passenger. Heat/Air conditioning, blower fan and all.

It needs some body work. Has rust through damage on rear drivers panel. Have new panels and doors for it. Going to put them on in the spring and paint the bus two tone blue. It holds its original Brilliant Orange paint at the moment.

Going in for a tuneup. Has new carbs, new floor pans, new brakelines and cylinders, fuel lines, rear seats, headliner, tires&rims, etc.

My friend has her full array of fun bumper stickers. Many are leaving, some are staying.

Dash. Dont have the radio or speaker. Soon will add. Driver and passenger seats are original and have lost all padding and support. Have a seat cover on the drivers until I get new seats soon.

Air conditioning unit to keep your head nice and cool. The compressor is destroyed and will be replaced. Luckily the compressor is the same for all VWS up to the 90s!

Love the new custom curtains. Lol. They are leaving.

Opened up. Green oriental pattern carpet. Oh the 70s.

Rear bench seat isn't attached for those wondering.

I will say its the most fun car I have ever driven. Riding right above the wheels, the turns are great, and the ride is oh so smooth.

Fun car.  My sister had a '65 van but she totaled it -- and survived!

I like the realistic bus-driving experience you get with the high perch and relatively flat steering wheel.
