Only issue

Unless you have 150 degree water from start to finish, the drying is so,so. The incoming water has to be hot from the get go to heat up the Wash Chamber and keep it hot as residual heat with the pulsating fan will be the only resource of heat to get a mediocre dry.The cleaning ability is unbelievable. As I say... "Will scrub the rust of a trailer hitch."

I'll trade you a KDS 20 for a A 806 set plus $$$. LOL

And 3 Small item Baskets.

The overhead constant "rinse" debuted in 1968 with the 16 series. In 1976, when the 18 was introduced having the multi-level wash with the upper level power wash, the overhead rinse was now called the overhead constant wash-rinse. The 19 series eliminated it but has a flat white "tube" at the back of the tub with a stationary spray slit at its top.

I have a KDS 18 or 19 too, but it's kinda buried at the moment and mine has wood panels on the front.

Update: Houston, we have a problem...

Ran the KDS-19 thru her paces. Motor would not start but tried. Disassembled the pump and pulled lots of glass fragments that had jammed the lower impeller. There also was evidence of leakage on the motor housing. Sure enough, the dishwasher runs great EXCEPT the fine spray of water coming off the motor slinger. Sooo, it's time for new pump seals...

I have two numbers in my reference that might help me:
B-240366 & B-240384.

Paging Stevet and others more knowing about Hobart K/A's! Is this pretty little one screwed? I hate to see one this clean and running as well as it does ending up as a parts donor or WORSE!

Good news! I imagine pump seals shouldn't be too hard to come by. Any damage to the impeller from the glass?

Hey Drew, I am no Hobart/KA expert. But what I've learned from SteveT and others, since I had a KDS-16 with the same leak problem, it is far from terminal.

So don't panic, you'll be able to repair it and it will work perfectly!!

Seals to the rescue..

Since the machine shows little sign of wear and tear, a shaft seal kit would probably do the trick for you. Do youself a favor and get the Hobart seal kit for it. It has a larger and more durable drain impeller(the vanes are larger and pump more water).
The part number you want is 435102 and they are still very much available.
The install is easy and the instructions will walk you thru it with little problem.

Happy day! The KDS19 will live again!

A big thank you to the experts! I really wanted to
save this one due to the condition of it. Now comes the big question... Will I swap out my prized Maytag MDB9150AWB for this one? Hmmm...

I hope this post went thru ok since I'm experimenting with the iPod touch with this...

The KA will be lots better. It's built like a truck. Although its no heat dry is no thrill,that part can be convertrd.
