I think I'm having my Mid-Life Crisis

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Only white boys drive Lincolns

But what cars they are! Nice landyacht!

Climate control: Every car should have one. Set the thermostat and smile. My dad's Toyota Prius has it. Set to 72 and set the vents to blow upward. The fans, recirc door, and the air vents switch are all automatic. I wish my Bug had that.

I thought that automatic climate control was dumber'n chit.

Then I tried it. Oooooh. Daddy likes.

David: I'll grow old, just not up.

Greg: I'm the bluehair, not you!

Smoofy: You're on. Dinner's at 4, right?

Paris: I won't be visiting Silverdaddies, that's for sure!

"Dramatic change in appearance." Well, you're right about that one, though it hasn't happened yet. And actually, it has nothing to do with my MLC, as it was planned by Lady Bethann, not me. (Apparently, she thinks I'm a mess. Not that I'm arguing...)

The Extreme Makeover: Veg Edition will happen in 2 weeks, Good Lord willing and the creek don't get up. So mark your calendars and ink me in for dates!

Oh, this is going to be crazy!

Well Veg, congrats on your new set of wheels! And Veg if there are any other changes do we get to see a picture of the new Veg as well?

MPG!!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOD!!! I have GOT to say i have never seen a car like that , that only gets 19MPG!!! I would expect a range rover to get that sort of mileage.

I spend $50 a month in my car and drive every day!!!
LoL
but I Do like the way it looks, plenty of room on the back seat???

Before i got my Saturn in 2001..i drove the sister to this car a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis...beautiful riding cars and spacious.

Very nice wheels there Veg, love those big old rear wheel drive cars.

Veg, The Librarian...

Veg, The Librarian Hunk, Hotty, Stud-muffin, get my drift.

Guess I'd better shut my mouth before he chickens out!

Do your prep work like I told you Honey.

Auto climate control in a Prius

The auto climate control in the Prius is so wonderful. I set the vents to point up and the control at 72. On a super hot day, the system will go to maximum AC. Fan on hi, recirc. As the interior cools, the fan gradually decreases speed. As the temp reaches 72, the fresh air vent opens and the fan increases and decreases to maintain temp. And on top of that, the thermstat control is on the steering wheel among many other functions.

Several cars in the family have had auto a/c --

Parents' Chrysler 5th Avenue (semi-auto, controlled temp but not fan speed or system mode)

Parents' Olds 98

Parents' Mercury Marquis

RJ's Jag S-Type

My Infiniti I30t

I allow mine to do what it's intended. I sometimes run it on Economy (no refrigeration) when weather permits, but that really doesn't make a significant impact on fuel consumption.

Mom jacks with hers.

I love my mid-life crisis

Let's see... I stopped working, I bought the first Palm Desert house, played a lot of tennis--I HATE golf, remodeled it for a great profit, bought a larger place, spent countless months re-doing it, discovered I hated the heavy summer heat and realized I didn't "fit" the lifestyle I thought I'd have.

So I'm back in Seattle, sold my Palm Desert house today (closes on the 3rd of July), and now I'm feeling better than I did in years. Back to my roots--yes, a born Seattlite--and yes, I also get to drive the big gas guzzline '93 ETC... that's an Eldorado Touring Coupe. Don't know what to do with the Sable station wagon!!! Probably get a few dogs...
I'm still enjoying my stage in life, though I've been told after 40, "it's patch...patch...patch! 51 isn't so bad!

Veg

if you havent seen Bette Davis in *Now, Voyager* you should see it now. reminds me of what Miss Davis once said about ageing, this is approx: "whoever said life begins at 40 is full if s#it! you see your looks decay, you get sick and start to forget things, whats so good about that?!"

Jason, YES!

See, that's what has me so confused about all this. How on earth could I be having a MLC when emotionally, I'm still only 9 years old? And don't see it going any higher, either.

It just seems odd to me to drive home from work in a Lincoln and then spend the evening playing with my Motorific set.

Maybe--just maybe--I'm not having a MLC at all. I could be just reeeeallly bad at managing my money.
