So today I have done two loads in the hotpoint at my dads, the first loads contained a bathroom curtain, 2 synthetic tops, a skirt a pair or children's trousers and two bras (yes I no shouldn't) and I put in on a fast wash with 800 spin and it reached 800 on the final spin but the load was still quite wet at the end , now the second load is still on and it is time saver 60* and It says it will take one hour and 1:30 later still going,

Could someone plse tell me what is going on with this machine many thanks

Trey

Folks...

I agree with Rob here......

Robert, our webmaster and creator of the site, has spent a huge amount of time and his money to provide a means for all of us to communicate about a shared interest - predominately washing machines, dryers and dishwashers with some additional variation in the Super area for products, stoves etc.

Every single post we make adds to the total cost of running this website which Robert ultimately pays the bill for. Please bare that in mind as, ultimately, we are Roberts guests.

Whilst I don't assume that I speak for anyone else other than myself, if you want to have a one-to-one conversation, send an email or chat on Skype - the forums are here to enable open group discussion where everyone can benefit from others life experiences with certain products and memorys as well as to share technical knowledge which others may find useful be that about reliability, how to fix something or even the vaguaries of different colours that a particular model came in or cost.

Consider it a loungeroom where everyone can participate in the conversation if you will.

I'd suggest that they're not here for individuals to start a conversation and then, as seems to be the case of late, send several non-constuctive messages such as 'replace it' or 'buy another' or to tell each other that 'I've sent you an email'.

That's not in the spirit of how forums work.

I think you wasted your breath there. This thread will now drop off so aquarius8000 can claim he didnt see it and reoffend - notice response to toher threads but not thins one?

Only thing I can hope is that aw.org has an age restriction imposed like Discuss O Vac has to join.

This is getting ridiculous. It's got nothing to do with your age/our age and everything to do with courtesy. Clogging up the boards with posts like "I've just e-mailed you" is ridiculous. Why not just check your e-mails before you check the forum?

Back to the topic at hand, I'd get a repair man to check it out first. It could be a very easy repair and I'm sure you'd much rather fix it than have it clogging up some landfill somewhere

It has recently been brought to my attention that certain members have been using some of the threads as their own personal instant message system.

Posts like:

Plse read the other one !!!!!
and
see email,

etc, etc, etc are completely unacceptable here and I will absolutely not stand for it anymore.

If I catch any of the usual suspects doing this again (please everyone alert me if you see this crap going on again asap) I will immediately ban you from posting here again. And don't come back to me with the excuse that "I didn't see this". Too bad, it seems you manage to see everything else. You will be banned, period. DON'T EVER DO IT AGAIN.

Thank you guys for emailing me about this, I normally do not read the Deluxe Forum as it holds very little interest for me as my interest in washers generally stops in the mid-60s.

Jacob, I could be wrong, but I don't think highlighting a message posted 4.5 years ago is really helpful here. Yes, sometimes Rob can be a bit abrupt in his messages, but he hasn't posted things like that any time recently as far as I've seen.

It's just a matter of courtesy to other forum members and the webmaster as well, not to use the site as a kind of instant messenger.

While I have not commented on this post before I have observed it from a distance and have not liked what I have seen at all.

Taking time to trawl through archives from years back to find dirt on a member who at that time was relatively new to the site himself is really highlighting the kind of 'childish' behavior that we are trying to help shape to better contribute to this site.

Whilst Rob may be abrupt and blunt he is also very realistic, this to some may come across as hurtful but its a very quick way to pointing out unacceptable behaviors and starting the process of assistance and advice. The most mature way to deal with this is look at the comments from other users supporting Robs post, work out what was annoying them and make some kind of attempt to rectify it.

Rob was not being unreasonable at all. Neither was our Webmaster when he had to step in and say so, the matter was buried at that point. Digging it up with this very inappropriate dig is just like spitting in our Webmasters face. Total disrespect.

Personally if this is the kind of behavior you are going to continue to show in future posts kindly click off this site now and never return, you are not wanted here. Or you could make one last ditch attempt at 'growing up' and realizing that this is not a childish competition for 'whose been the naughtiest member', its just real life, learning this now will help you in future years.

Please attempt to learn from this, noone likes asking people to leave.

Regards

Matt
