cool!-thought i heard the guy say it was from 1941,looks like
the radio chassis is in the top behind the controls-at first
i thought the controls were built into a freezer door with
cables going to the radio chassis like many 1930s car radios
with the controls in the dash and chassis under the seat.

Interesting radio! I know some companies made radios to put on refrigerators. Westinghouse was the classic example. (And one I've half wanted. Except I don't have a Westinghouse refrigerator--the "right" home for it. Plus, AM radio is pretty lackluster these days, unless you like far out political commentary!) But I'd never thought of a radio built into a refrigerator before.

I think some modern refrigerators have built in computers for Internet--the "radio" of today, I guess. Funny how old things become new again....

Doesn't LG make a 'fridge with a flatscreen TV built into the door-I would think today it would be no problem at all to include an AM/FM radio in a fridge. The set and speakers coiuld be built into the door.
Remember the Oreck vacuum cleaner that had an AM/FM radio built into its handle-you listened to its radio with heahphones-didn't last long becuase the noise of the vacuum drowned out the radio even with the headphones.

That's very cool!

Never seen one. When I saw your post, I was thinking of the curved bottom "fridge top" radio, of which I have one on my Philco.
