Hi guys if you could help me out that would be great.I need a Fedders/Hampton Bay/Emerson Quiet Kool/Airtemp air conditioner like the one in this picture. The one I have finally bit the bullet and no longer works for some reason lol. If you know somebody who would like to sell one WITH SHIPPING please let me know. Just as long as the price is suitable for a 15 year old lol (at or below $100 EXCLUDING shipping) and in usable condition. A little bit of rust is fine-just as long as its not rotting apart (like mine).

Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew!
I don't know how big a unit you are looking for, but I have seen 5-7,000 btu units for under 100.00 at walmart and rite-aid pharmacies. Check your fliers in the Sunday paper and I will bet you can pick up a new one. Check them all cause I have seen a/c's sold in the oddest places lately.

I know...

I got a "GE" thing from wally mart for $230 that is an awful hunk of garbage. Its loud and rattles constantly lol. I want to go back to a fedders or something similar.

Thanks, Andrew

I forgot to add...

It would be more convenient for me to have it shipped out NEXT month, as I am out of state this month. Unit should hopefully be above 5000btu too. About 6500-9000 would be good for me.

Wow, this is something, I picked up a Fedders 8000 btu unit just like that 2 weeks ago at a garage sale for nothing. The people got cental air and were getting rid of their window units. The unit looked ok, but was missing the air filter, no big deal. Brought is home and plugged it in and nothing, I thought it was dead, but the compressor went on, so I turned it off, took off the front panel and gave the fan a spin, at first it wouldn't move, so I applied a little more force and whatever was holding it, broke free and the fan spun, something in the outer cabinet must have caught the fan and didn't allow it to turn. Turned it on again and the fan went right on and ran fine. So I opened up the cabinet and cleaned out the inside of the unit, boy it was filthy, I think I found what had glued itself to the outer fan and prevented it from turning. I cleaned it all up and got a new slide filter for it and it is now down in the family room working fine. I didn't know it was 15 years old or so. I hope it keeps going for another 15 years, as it is a nice powerful unit. Good luck in finding another one.
