That's why it's important to allow all opinions be voiced. While they may not be correct facts, they do make us think.
I read this interesting comment quite a while back; When your neighbor loses his job it's a recession. When you lose your own, it's a depression. When the former commander in chief loses his, it's recovery. Really?
Another just last week; Business is slow where I work. My boss asked if I could think of any ways to bring in more business, so I suggested passing out "I voted for so and so bumper stickers." Now I'm getting a raise.
Now that sure can cut both ways if you think. Suppose business doesn't pick up?
Why is business slow? Was there a certain political sign out front before the election?
I know I don't patronize a business if they advertise a candidate out in public. It screams bias.
One from just two evenings ago; A great president built the Interstate highways.
Yes, one did, but not with tax cuts. Not when you think. Not much else will get done either if you cut everyone's taxes like promised.
Folks fall for that one all the time. Sure, you can cut federal agency spending to a point, but not enough to do all that.
Transferring certain responsibilities to states to budget will also affect their local budgets.
Firstly, the tax revenue producing jobs must be created. The more folks earn, the more tax revenue. Just the opposite happened up to 2009.
Even expanding the military budget requires taxes. Taxes are socially collected funds from us, John Q public.
It would be great to have less regulations, or none at all, but what private enterprises caused to happen through 2009 proves they are necessary. The same for environmental issues. Anyone recall Love canal, the Exxon Valdese, or Hinckley California for example?
Accidental pollution also happens, and it's prompt and safe clean up is detrimental, for example in case of a pipeline fracture, or a freight train wreck and spill.
Call it snake oil, smoke and mirrors, it's all the same. Covering up or lieying about it is different.
