If speed queen added dishwasher to there line of products would you buy one?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yes I would.

If Speed Queen Appliances made dishwashers, I'd buy them for the reasons stated about their laundry in a heartbeat. If it did have a heating element, it would be recessed into the stainless steel bottom. It would also have a heated dry assist with a fan that blasts hot air to dry the dishes. And of course the water would get hot during the wash cycle.

I would say YES.... a dishwasher almost has to have a heating element... doesn't it? If it didn't... then no... but I can't imagine it wouldn't.... but I bet it would be EXPENSIVE like their washers/dryers....but back in the 1960s/70s/80s when things were built to last longer...all appliances were the same $$$ as SQ today...I think a washer or dishwasher for $275 in 1972 is like almost $2100 dollars now... Back then, appliances were so much less affordable because you can't find many appliances back then that were cheaper than that...No freaking wonder they lasted so long

A new Speed Queen dishwasher

Is very unlikely I talked to the people at Speed Queen about this one time but they’re the worlds largest builder of commercial laundry and they’re not insignificant and home laundries in the United States either.

Of course it would have a heating element. That’s just a silly remark to say that it might not a heating element is basically required by the department of energy because the dishwashers sold today must work with 120° incoming water, and the course they have to wash and rinse and dry dishes so heating element is a given.

Unlike the days of old there is probably no chance of Speed Queen going full line and having refrigerators dishwashers, etc. they do a very good job of what they’re doing.

Maytag would’ve been smart to have just stuck with washers and dryers disposers and maybe dishwashers, they wouldn’t have gone out of business if they had stuck with what they were doing a good job of so hopefully Speed Queen will not go into dishwashers.

Speed Queen Dishwashing

I would imagine Speed Queen dishwashers would have a heating element and cycles and options that everybody uses, such as pots/pans, normal, light, glasses/china, and rinse only. The options would be power scrub, heat wash, sanitary rinse, and power dry options.

Speed Queen Phone Call

I made a phone call to Speed Queen and suggested they'd branch out into the dishwasher market, tna dhey'll put it in their notes. It would be nice for them to fill a niche gap in the market. They could have smooth ride racks, the most powerful longest lasting pump and motor, and super smooth stainless stel that gets even smoother the more you use it. They could have a thorough clean wash system and a powerful heater and the largest most versatile silverware basket that won't block the arms or dispensers.[this post was last edited: 2/3/2025-20:11]

Maybe Hobart?

On Facebook I have seen ads for Hobart undercounter dishwashers like would be found in a nursing home, but with a second rack and it looks like it is being used in a home.

Perhaps Hobart is trying to find out if people might be interested in a fast dishwasher for the home and this is their way of "feeling it out".  So I would think more likely a Hobart branded machine might be in a home (a rich people's home with "help") before a Speed Queen.

I bet Jerome doesn't realize that once upon a time SQ did in fact had a dishwasher along with other major kitchen appliances. I just found this out not too long ago.

IF they were to come back to the dishwasher market, the way I see it is they'd have a do another licensing just like they did the first time. It'd be a huge financial suicide to build their own dishwashers. Hobart or any other commercial dishwashing company would do if they want to live up to the Speed Queen brand for fast dishwashing. I have a friend in Chicago that owns a commercial Hobart dishwasher for his basement he did a video on. But there's no way SQ would ever pull that off, they clearly left the dishwasher market because the demand wasn't there. I like that SQ focuses on laundry products, that's it. I'd rather have Speed Queen take over Filter Queen vacuums before I'd ever see another Speed Queen dishwasher.

Speed Queen Dishwashers

GEE! I never ever, ever, ever knew that Speed Queen Home once had dishwashers. Maybe they should make a comeback and build them them more efficient with time, water, energy, and performance than ever before and leave NO STONE UNTURNED. They could come out with the cleanest dishes in a reasonable amount of time to insure that all traces of dirt, food, grease, and film and spots are removed in a reasonable amount of time. heavy duty racks and beefy macerators and pumps and a 1 horsepower motor will round out the package. I'd rather have that than to wash dishes by hand or a puny dishwasher that's more like a toy than a workhorse. I want dishes blasted or overcome in a wall of water, not sprinkled. I'm sorry, but I expect a no nonsense dishwasher. I don't care how ugly or noisy it is. I expect noise to let its presence known.
