Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That's an easy one. We had a 1972/73 Whirlpool in harvest gold. My favorite washer besides the 84 Whirlpool and my Maytag 806.

Oh yes-thought of it-My Mom in 1976-built a new house in Niceville,Fla-KN washer with Penta Swirl agitator(she still has this machine in her present home in Calif.)and a Maytag dryer circa early 70's she still has.
Dad and Stepmom-Maytag washer bought new in 1972-week later went thru Rapid City flood of 1972-machine was found and rebuilt by the Rapid City Maytag dealer the machine was bought from.Machine died sometime in late 80's-replaced with another Maytag. My stepmom had no dryer-the Kn she had was lost in the flood and not found. For years she used an outside clothesline and during very cold weather-one in the basement-in the late 80's Dads visiting mother and all of us went to Sears-Grandmom bouht my Stepmom a KN dryer.both machines were still in use until they moved to a retirement village apartment-don't know what happned to the machines they had-probably my brother has them.

At that time I was 10 years old, and we were still living in Dallas,Texas. The 1968 Kenmore 800 alphabet washer in alvacado was still in use, along with a 1974,or 75 Kenmore dryer also in alvacado with the console that preceeded the black face they used many years after. The washer lasted until 1993, and the dryer lasted until 1999. I say that was a good long life for both of them. I just wish they would make appliances like they used to, with pride, and excelent workmanship that would last a good long time again.

Candy D 2.48

Similar look to this one on the picture ;) It had 750 rpm, 21 programmes, and ajustable temperature. Ofcourse 5/3 button. I adore it... but not one of my favorite Candy"s though ;)
