Hello to all aw members,

If you could travel back in time to buy your dream vintage washer dryer set brand new what would it be , for me in my case it would be this set in harves gold of course made by inglis with the fabric sofner dispenser thats mounted on the agitator

Difficult to answer...

I just hope the time travel is made using a Tardis, so I could to to several different years and countries and fit as many washers I could.

Then I'd take maybe 2 years only unloading the tardis in present.

1961 or 1962 Kenmore with waterfall lint filter with scrubber cap agitator OR 1968-1969 GE Filter-Flo in avacado green. I wouldn't turn down an indexing top loading Westy of the 70's either. Hard choice.

Wow! I'm surprised at all of these choices. For me it would be either the 1958 TOL Norge set or 1957 Kelvinator set with the "do all" dial or an Apex set with the glass inserts on the washer lid and dryer door. More than likely, the Kelvinator or Apex set. They were the most unusual and had the most action.

So many to choose from. Likely a Frigidaire from the early 60's, one of the RapidDry models. Or a Control top from the late 50's.

Well, I always fantasize about finding a NOS Hotpoint 1969 Duo-Load pair (in coppertone)even though I know performance would be disappointing.

 

I suppose I'd also love to find a vintage Miele professional washer and dryer with the backsplash, water heater and ridiculously fast spin.

My vintage washer is this 1948 Kenmore I got in August. My dryer is a clothesline just like my mothers was. I HATE winter. I want to let my Maytags rest and play with them.
