Excellent!

A couple on tv also caught thieves on camera. They stole toys they had ordered for their dog, so they packaged up some of their pup's post meal deposits in a box, wrapped it as if it had been delivered to their address, and it was stolen again by the same thieves.

Pretty inventive guy. It is an expensive experiment, at least $1000 worth of hardware, a bunch of time and 4 cellular data plans. But from the way it is going viral today, it is likely worth it to him.

Thing that worries me is a vindictive thief that decides to come back and vandalize the home they found it at.

Many years ago, near Christmas, I had purchased some Centura from a nice lady in Hinesville, GA. We communicated a bit because that is near where Camp Stewart, now Fort Stewart is located. During a part of WWII, my father was stationed there so this lady and I wrote back and forth. Well, her package was supposed to be delivered by UPS and showed that it had been delivered, but I did not have it. I called UPS, but all they could tell me was that it had been delivered. A couple of weeks later she wrote me about more Centura, but I told her I was feeling a little iffy about buying more at that time because of the delivery problem. She had the tracking information. I do not know exactly what she did, but she contacted me a day or two later saying that she had UPS search the truck that was supposed to have delivered her package to me and they found that it was still on the truck. Whether the driver was holding it to steal or had just lost it, I don't know, but it was delivered in perfect shape and I went ahead and bought more of her Centura. Talk about a steel magnolia or a tiger mother; she was one southern lady who knew how to fight to protect her customers. I'm also willing to bet that a certain UPS driver was closely watched for a while, if not fired and all trucks at that station were more closely inspected at the end of the delivery day. As a lady at the Beltsville Post Office said once, "You can get fired behind something like that."

This was a great idea. It amazes me how many times this was stolen. A thief gets what they deserve. If it's not yours, leave it alone. On the other hand, on the comments for the video, he posted that 2 reactions were fake. A friend of a friend was helping him out and 2 of his friends took the package.

However, just to be a debbie downer here, in PA if you set a boobytrap for, say, a trespasser, you can be charged. I've read quite a few accounts of people setting up some type of trap, be it a trip wire, or something else, to stop a trespasser only to be charged themselves. If someone gets injured you are on the hook.

Get a witness, or photo, or video to get proof

Exactly my point about the video. What if someone said the glitter injured their eye? It got in there and scratched the cornea or retina. I guess I am just being contrary today. Demanding people are ticking me off today. It's their holiday, not mine. BAH HUMBUG!! (LOL!)

"Get a witness, or photo, or video to get proof for the police."

And after reporting the crime to police and showing your photo/video evidence get told the same thing the maker of the booby trap package and YT video got told: "It's not worth our time to pursue."

IMO what ever happens to someone while stealing another's property gets what they were asking for. That's the risk they assumed when they decided to be a thief.

Darts

Did anyone go on and watch his dartboard video? It's something special. For some reason when I put a link in, it will not play the video. Just go to Mark Rober and check it out.
